POLL: Player of the Week (Week 8)
This week’s nominees (polls are open until noon on Friday):
Cruse Pingleton, Model – Against Western Hills, he had 20 points and 5 rebounds. Against Bourbon County, Pingleton had 28 points and 9 rebounds then finished the week with 7 points and 7 rebounds against Whitefield Academy.
Jaylen Davis, Madison Central – The freshman scored 20 points with 6 made threes against West Jessamine then had 6 points against Lincoln County.
Jamison Epps, Marion County – The Knights split 4 games last week and Epps had 18 points and 12 rebounds against Adair County, 28 points and 14 rebounds against Wayne County, 21 points and 13 rebounds against Scott County and 12 points and 11 rebounds against Lafayette.
Kaeveon Mitchell, Breckinridge County – Mitchell had a big week with 23 points against Apollo, 20 points against Grayson County and 32 points against Bullitt East. The Senior helped lead the Tigers to a 2-1 week.
Anthony Caggiano, Ryle – Ryle had a 2-0 week and the Senior had 17 points and 12 rebounds against Holmes and a career high 25 points against Lloyd Memorial.
DaShawn Jackson, Frederick Douglass – Douglass won the Toyota Classic and DaShawn had 33 points and 13 rebounds in the championship game. Earlier in the event, he had 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists against Thomas Nelson and 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists against Lafayette. The Broncos also beat Dunbar in the week but had an error with stats.
Jaylen Barber, Great Crossing – The Senior big man helped the Warhawks to a 2-1 finish at the Toyota Classic. Against Lafayette, Barber had 15 points and 9 rebounds. Against Thomas Nelson, he had 17 points and 11 rebounds then against Wayne County he finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
