The South Granville Vikings remain undefeated in conference action with recent wins over Warren County, Roanoke Rapids and Louisburg. They’ve remained unscathed with a matchup looming against Granville Central later on this month. Bobby Pettiford Jr. has done well to play at a high level and his supporting cast has followed suit. On Jan. 17, they’ll host J.F. Webb.
2. Granville Central Panthers (4-0)
Last Rank: 2nd (↔)
Terence Harcum Jr. is another prospect in the conference that has his team playing at a high level. Harcum is averaging 25.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 5.1 steals per contest as the Panthers have won all four conference games. They’ll host a tough Bunn squad on Jan. 17.
3. Bunn Wildcats (3-1)
Last Rank: 3rd (↔)
The Wildcats have won two conference games in a row since the new year has kicked off. They got an overtime victory over Warren County and a five-point win over J.F. Webb to remain in good shape in conference action. Junior guard Ah’quay Mosley is playing well, averaging 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.7 assists per game. Bunn will travel to Granville Central on Jan. 17.
4. J.F. Webb (3-2)
Last Rank: 5th (↑1)
J.F. Webb has gone 2-1 in their last three Northern Carolina Conference games since the calendar has changed to 2020. They lost to Bunn in their last game but they’re a competitive squad that doesn’t back down. They travel to South Granville on Jan. 17.
5. Louisburg (1-4)
Last Rank: 4th (↓1)
The Warriors have just one victory in conference action but it’s not due to the play of junior guard Elijah Jamison. Jamison ranks second in the state at 31.8 points per game. He’s an efficient scoring guard that can also rebound well. He’s also producing 13.4 rebounds per contest. Louisburg is off this week but will look to snap a two-game losing streak in conference play.
6. Warren County (0-4)
Last Rank: 6th (↔)
One of the two winless teams in conference action, Warren County has found themselves fighting an uphill battle once again. They fell big to Granville Central in their last game but senior guard Andrew Smith is still finding his consistency. He’s putting up 20.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest. They’ll look to get their first conference victory on Jan. 17 over Roanoke Rapids.
7. Roanoke Rapids (0-4)
Last Rank: 7th (↔)
Roanoke Rapids is winless on the season and in conference play as the 2019-20 season wears on. They’ll look to get their first win of the season over Warren County on Jan. 17.
