1. Heritage Huskies (2-0)
The Huskies remain undefeated at 2-0 in Northern Athletic Conference play after a big win Tuesday night over the Wakefield Wolverines 56-39. The Huskies outscored the Wolverines 20-9 n the fourth quarter as Lucas Taylor finished with a game-high 24 points and Red Dunton finished with 17 points while going 13-of-13 from the free-throw line. They’re the only unbeaten
2. Wakefield Wolverines (1-1)
The Wolverines have been without point guard Brenon Rogers for their first two conference games and in their most pivotal one, they turned the ball over 19 times against Heritage. They’ll look to work out the kinks as they look to replace their primary ballhandler. Look for sophomore Jaxon Brown to step up some.
3. Rolesville Rams (1-1)
The Rams got their first win in NAC-6 action with a 60-49 victory over Knightdale on Tuesday night. Unsigned senior forward Brandon Johnson led the way with 16 points and nine rebounds. Brandon Williams also finished with 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.
4. Knightdale Knights (1-1)
The Knights took their first loss in NAC-6 play to Rolesville on Tuesday, creating some separation in the ranks a bit. At 1-1, they’re in good shape led by 2021 Rodney Ellis who is producing 14.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest.
5. Corinth Holders Pirates (1-1)
The Pirates won their first conference game on a buzzer-beater from 2021 guard Jacob Poole to take a home 60-59 victory over Wake Forest. With just two wins on the overall season, they’ll be likely to celebrate as more of them come their direction.
6. Wake Forest Cougars (0-2)
The Cougars are the lone winless team in NAC-6 action as the midway point of the season passes. They’ve got room to improve but they’ll need to right the ship in a hurry or things could end up on the down trend for them.
