1. Heritage Huskies (3-1)
Last Rank: 1st (↔)
The Huskies remain safe at the top despite two other teams being 3-1 in the standings. They’ve gone 1-1 since the first edition of power rankings, losing to Knightdale but getting a buzzer-beater victory over Rolesville 69-66 thanks to Lucas Taylor’s 3-point shot from halfcourt. They’ve got Wake Forest on Tuesday on the road.
2. Knightdale Knights (3-1)
Last Rank: 4th (↑2)
The Knights have made some headway with two-straight victories in NAC6 play over Heritage and Corinth Holders. Senior Chrishaun Mitchell and junior Rodney Ellis have them playing well at a key time in the schedule. They’ll look to keep it going against Wakefield on Tuesday.
3. Wakefield Wolverines (3-1)
Last Rank: 2nd (↓1)
Last year’s top team finds themselves at the top still, but there’s work to do as the second half of the schedule approaches in NAC6 action. They’ve won their last two games over Corinth Holders and Wake Forest, however, they’ll need to get a win over Knightdale on Tuesday to get back to their roots.
4. Rolesville Rams (2-2)
Last Rank: 3rd (↓1)
The Rams have hit a snag at 1-1 since the first edition of power rankings. They’ve won big against Wake Forest while losing a close one to Heritage. Unsigned senior Brandon Johnson leads the way, averaging 15.8 points and 11.7 rebounds per contest. Next up: Corinth Holders on Tuesday.
5. Corinth Holders Pirates (1-3)
Last Rank: 5th (↔)
The Corinth Holders have dropped their last two games in conference action, although they still hold a victory. Two-straight losses to Wakefield and Knightdale have them currently in dire straits. The Pirates will look to snap their streak against Rolesville on Tuesday.
6. Wake Forest Cougars (0-4)
Last Rank: 6th (↔)
The Cougars are the only winless team left in NAC 6 play as the schedule winds down. They kept things close with Wakefield before falling 47-34. They fell by 13 points to Athens Drive too on Jan. 20. They return to action on Tuesday against Heritage.
