The Indians are on a tear right now and very few teams appear equipped to slow them down. Four Winds/Minnewauken went 4-0 last week, beating top-10 teams in New Rockford-Sheyenne and Hillsboro/Central Valley, plus Oak Grove and Benson County. In a game that could be a state championship preview type matchup, the Indians outscored Hillsboro/Central Valley 20-10 in the fourth quarter to close that game.
Rugby
The Panthers won two games in blowout fashion last week, beating Carrington and Nedrose by a combined 77 points. Devan Michels was excellent in both games, going for 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the win over Nedrose and 14 points, seven rebounds and eight assists against Carrington.
Richland
The Colts made quick work of Wyndmere/Lidgerwood and Tri-State last week, improving to 7-1 on the season. Carter Lingen’s gotten off to a slow start this year, but perhaps this past week can serve as a turning point. The senior guard scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Wyndmere/Lidgerwood and went for 21 points, five rebounds and four assists against Tri-State.
St. John
The Woodchucks won twice last week to move to 10-1 on the year, beating Rolla and Rolette/Wolford. Despite not having Adam Jollie in the lineup in recent games, the Woodchucks keep on rolling. Bradley Defender has picked up his play as of late and was excellent last week, going for 19 points, eight rebounds and five steals against Rolette/Wolford.
Hatton/Northwood
The Thunder went 3-0 last week and picked up a critical win over Cavalier to start the week, extending its winning streak to six games. The Thunder have the high-end talent to beat anybody with guys like Colton Konschak and Alex Wolfe but the depth has also developed nicely for this group.
Shiloh Christian
The Skyhawks earned two solid wins last week, beating New Salem/Almont on Thursday and New Town on Saturday. Jaden Mitzel did the heavy lifting offensively, going for 19 in the win over the Holsteins before piling up 23 points and 18 rebounds against New Town.
Enderlin
The Eagles suffered their first loss of the year last week, dropping a 71-63 contest to Northern Cass. Joe Hurlburt was held in check by the Jaguars, as he took just nine shots en route to a 10-point, 11-rebound effort. Dawson Lemna had a nice evening though, scoring 21 points and grabbing five boards.
Dickinson Trinity
The Titans went 2-0 last week to push their current winning streak to seven games, beating Beach and Richardton-Taylor. Dickinson Trinity is getting excellent play from a lot of different guys including juniors Jacob Daniel, Cole Fitterer and Tanner Soehren.
Bowman County
The Bulldogs break into the rankings thanks to a 10-2 start to the season which includes only one loss to a North Dakota team (No. 8 Dickinson Trinity before Christmas). Bowman County is winning with elite defense and terrific play from junior guard Caleb Duffield and senior forward Jacob Svihovec.
Langdon/Edmore/Munich
The Cardinals improved to 8-2 on the year with a pair of wins last week, beating Dunseith and Rolla. LEM is heading into the meatgrinder portion of its schedule as it takes on Four Winds/Minnewaukan and New Rockford-Sheyenne this week before playing Benson County and Grafton/St. Thomas next week.
