Here are the games to watch this upcoming week:
Devils Lake at West Fargo Sheyenne, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 14
West Fargo Sheyenne took its first loss of the season last week against Fargo Davies but still remains at the top of the league after the Eagles were upset over the weekend. Devils Lake has been better than expected so far this year and has an opportunity to climb into that second tier with Grand Forks Red River with a win here. Grant Nelson and Blake Berg are two of the best players in the EDC and likely the frontrunners for the league Player-of-the-Year at this point.
Bismarck Century at Bismarck Legacy, 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 16
Two teams fighting for a top-four spot in the WDA, Bismarck Century and Bismarck Legacy are currently in the middle of the pack in the league and in need of a win. Rhett Clements returned to the lineup for the Sabers last week and he provides some much-need juice but they need more from some of the complementary guys too. Bismarck Century continues to hang in games thanks to elite defense, terrific play from Cade Feeney and a revolving door of strong play from Ian Ely, Justice Coleman and Jordan Lebeau.
Dickinson at Bismarck, 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 17
Who had this being a top matchup before the year started? Dickinson was an under-the-radar potential surprise team while the Demons were about to break in an entirely new roster. Now, these are two of the best teams in the state and in the mix for a top seed in the WDA. Bismarck comes in on a tear after notching wins over Bismarck Century and Minot last week. The Demons have the most explosive offense in the state but also lead the WDA in rebounding, steals and 2-point field goal percentage. For Dickinson, it’s all about the dynamic duo of Jaiden Wright and Kobe Krenz, who combine to average 47 points per game.
