Lamaj Lewis 6’4 guard ST. John Bosco
A good size guard who see’s the floor well, he had good strong moves. His finishes were a little off balance but effective. He uses his body and size to get into the paint to get shots over smaller defenders. He has a nice little jumper in the key. 16 points,4 assists.
Marsalis Roberson 6’4 guard Bishop O’Dowd
Roberson put on one of the top performances of the day. His skill set is only going to get better. He’s understanding what he’s capable of on the court. He was effective on both ends. He played with a high level of energy on defense, and his ability to score at multiple positions was noticeable. Playing the wing, point guard, or in the post area he was tough to handle. 24 points, 8 rebounds.
Arvin Sandu 5’10 2021 point guard Central Catholic
Quick from the point of attack, has a good speed, and has a good stop-n-go move. He likes to push it in open court, and he found teammates with good solid passing. He’s a high energy player you have to slow down at times, but he did find the hot hand during a stretch of this game. He was 5-7 on 3ptrs, and finished with 17 points.
Taj Phillips 5’8 2021 point guard, Bishop O’Dowd
He is becoming a consistent facilitator in this offense. His decision making and command of the offense was noticeable. He gets the ball to the right players, he can drive and dump it off to the bigs, he has developed a nice mid-range jumper, and can knockdown the 3. Very active and aware on defense, plays the passing lanes and helps others. 8 points, 7 assists.
Malik Thomas 6’3 2021 shooting guard Damien
Thomas was the best shooter in the gym at this event. He hit 3’s from the corner, wings and the top, at one point he hit 3 straight. When he wasn’t knocking down 3’s he was taking it to the paint for more points. He was the high scorer of the event shooting 12-14 fgs, 7-9 3ptr. I think he was taken out of the game at the beginning of the 4th qtr. 35 points.
Jaden Geron 6’7 wing San Joaquin Memorial
A good size prospect who does a good job of handling the ball out on the perimeter. He had some success on the dribble drive from the baseline and elbow. He can shoot it from the corners. He didn’t have his best day shooting the ball, but his passing was decent, and he was working hard trying to help defend a 6’11 center in the post.
Fallay Mahda 6’6 forward Moreau Catholic
This prospect has been steadily improving his inside play, while waiting for his 6’7 teammate to return to action. He’s getting more touches, and opportunities to score, his foot work is improved and he’s sealing his defender behind him on the post. He’s been working hard on this part of his game. He’s a good defender and rebounds well. 7 points, 7 rebounds.
Jaden Alexander 6’4 wing ST. Pat/ST.Vin
A good conditioned athlete who plays hard and produces on both ends of the floor. He can score multiple ways. He’s strong, and can play in the post if needed. He can handle the ball on top, and he finishes strong on the drive. He’s strong enough in the post to guard bigger players and can defend on the perimeter. His shooting form need some work. 21 points 6 rebounds.
