St. Benedict’s at Blair, 5:30 PM
This is a rematch of the Prep A Final from last season where Blair picked up a blowout victory. This game should be much closer than 86-64. Jaylen Blakes will look to dominate St. Benedict’s once again in this prep showdown.
St. Augustine at Wildwood Catholic, 7:00 PM
Wildwood Catholic features one of the best duos in the state in Taj Thweatt and Jahlil White. That is why their early season struggles were such a surprise. Wildwood Catholic has now won seven in a row and are starting to hit their stride. They will be taking on fellow Cape-Atlantic League powerhouse St. Augustine. This could be a preview of the conference final. St. Augustine is also riding a winning streak heading into this one.
Thursday, Jan. 23
CBA at Marlboro, 4:00 PM
CBA lost their season opener to Marlboro at home and has struggled ever since. Marlboro has won six of seven and is ranked high up in the Shore Conference. Regardless of the body of work so far, this is a rivalry game and will not be an easy one for Alex Ratner and Marlboro. Ratner is leading a young Marlboro team. Jack Seidler has been a sophomore leader for the squad. CBA will lookto get back on track and pick up a signature win.
Roselle Catholic vs. Camden at Neumann University (PA), 7:00 PM
This is without a doubt the game of the week in New Jersey and could contend as the game of the season. This top five matchup will feature multiple Division I commits including future Kentucky Wildcat Lance Ware and CJ Wilcher who is heading to Xavier. Cliff Omoyuri has not made his college decision but has his list cut down to five. Which powerhouse will be able to pick up a top five win in this one?
Don Bosco Prep at Bergen Catholic, 7:00 PM
Julian Brown has completely taken the next step for Bergen Catholic. He joins Will Richardson and Matt Zona to form a big three at Bergen Catholic. Zona, the Notre Dame commit, has been the model of consistency as Brown has done the scoring. This is a huge rivalry so Bergen Catholic cannot take their opponent lightly. Don Bosco has lost three straight but Myles Ruth still makes them a threat.
Saturday, Jan. 25
Hudson Catholic vs. Ranney at Kean University, 5:30 PM
This game will be part of the Hearts 2 Hands Invitational. This game will feature two outstanding sophomores in Zion Cruz and Elijah Perkins. Hudson Catholic has won six straight games and is looking like a top team led by Cruz. Ranney will look to show that the Shore Conference is the real deal.
Roselle Catholic vs. St. Benedict’s at Kean University, 7:00 PM
This game will follow Hudson Catholic-Ranney at the Heart 2 Hands Invitational. Roselle Catholic will take their four McDonald’s All-American nominees and try and assert their dominance further in New Jersey. This will be a busy week for the Lions but it is nothing that they cannot handle.
Sunday, Jan. 26
Union Catholic vs. St. Joe’s Metuchen at Johnson Regional, 4:30 PM
St. Joe’s Metuchen has been a powerhouse in New Jersey since Karl Anthony-Towns was there. K-Shawn Schulters and Tyree Ford have been leaders for the Falcons this season. They led the Falcons to an upset win over St. Thomas Aquinas this season. Union Catholic was a dark horse team coming into the season. They have lost two out of three games but that does not mean that they are pushovers. Elijah Barlow and Matt Tracey will have to have strong games if they want to win this one.
