Anthony Bowen – Choctaw – 2021
Though we at Prep Hoops have written multiple articles on him in the past, Bowen really broke out of his shell at the McGuinness Tournament this past weekend. Playing with grit and determination, his leadership was shown not only through his vocal communication, but his example every time he steps on the court. Attacking the basket with the perfect mix of aggression and control, Bowen proved to be one of the best all-around players this weekend.
Jarrett Grisham – OKC Storm – 2022
Grisham should become a name everyone knows in the next couple of years. Standing 6’3 and running the point for OKC Storm, his length and athleticism was elite as he finished on extremely difficult layups with complete body control. Grisham made smart basketball plays and knew when he needed to speed up or slow down the offense, forcing his opponents to play the at the pace of the Storm.
Mason Blackburn – Deer Creek – 2021
Whenever you knock down a game winner, you’re going to get the recognition you deserve. Blackburn did just that hitting a huge game winner for Deer Creek this past weekend at the McGuinness Classic. He was able to lock in and block out all distraction, sending Deer Creek fans home happy that afternoon.
Colby Onyekuru – Edmond Sante Fe – 2021
The junior absolutely lit it up for Santa Fe in their matchup vs Norman North with four threes in the second half alone, three of which coming in four possessions. His height and length give him the ability to elevate over his defender and knock down shots with a very low amount of pressure. The junior’s maturity and the way he carries himself is very impressive, look for him to continue to grow in his game.
