Ben Schwieger (Waubonsie Valley – 2021)
What a night for this 6’5” junior shooting guard! He has plus size and athleticism on the wing. Early on in the game it was his three point shot that was working for him opening up with a pair of threes from each corner. Then started to mix in the in between game with mid-range jumpers and turnaround fadeaways. Excellent form on his shot. He gets elevation off the ground and has a fluid release on his jumper. Shoots it with a lot of confidence! Flashed the athleticism including on a tip slam off a teammates miss in transition. Quick and decisive moves to catch the ball. Defensively he moves his feet well being able to defend a couple different positions at the next level. Blocked three shots in this game with an explosive burst off the ground. Quality wing rebounder. He had 21 points.
Marcus Skeete (Waubonsie Valley – 2020)
Skeete is a powerfully built 6’5” wing that has slimmed down his body and greatly improved his perimeter shot. That was definitely shown with the way he shot the basketball drilling a pair of triples. Strong body allows him to get in the paint where he often hit mid-range shots or fadeaways. Best move of the night was a transition drive where he crossed his man and then hit a pull up. A bit slow footed and didn’t finish as well as he usually does at the cup. Strong ball handler for a small forward. No doubt D2 prospect finished with 14 points.
Isaiah Smith (Waubonsie Valley – 2021)
This 6’1” point guard was the breakout player in the first half. Pretty decent athlete that has the ability to shoot it from deep. Connected on three triples in the first half. Finished with 17 points.
Adri Malushi (Waubonsie Valley – 2021)
Malushi picked up where Smith left off in the first half. The 5’9” point guard has deep range on his three and a scrappy game. Solid passer that can handle it a little on straight line drive. Went for 10 points.
Cameron Doughtery (Naperville Central – 2020)
Doughtery is a water polo commit to Harvard that could have been a D2 hoops prospect as well. The 6’6” small forward was excellent scoring in the post on seals and crafty posts in the paint. Skilled game where he can shoot it from three off the catch and was one of the only guys on his team to play with intensity. He had 19 points.
Chris Conway (Naperville Central – 2020)
This 6’10” Oakland commit has been playing very well from recent reports. This was not his night at all. He scored his only two points of the night on free throws when he was fouled on a quick spin. Didn’t get many post touches and was not engaged on the boards either.
