Dominic Marrujo – Prairie View
Prairie View had a high scoring game against where they edged out Thornton 72-71 and with that came some big-time scores. Nobody was as clutch as their sophomore point guard Dominic Marrujo who was able to explode for a season-high 28 points. He hit four 3-pointers in the game, got to the FT line and was able to stand out when his team needed him most. Big Monday for him.
Jabez Hasberry – Vista Ridge
Albeit in a loss for. Vista Ridge, their senior guard Hasberry was able to have another scoring day where he had everything going for him. He had 23 points as he went 5-8 from the field and those three misses were his only misses in the game. He got inside of the paint and opened things up for his team, got on the break and finished and also filled lanes correctly on the break. Vista Ridge has been riding their senior guard and he has been delivering, next time he just hopes it translates to a win.
Caleb Rillos – Ralston Valley
Rillos and the Ralston Valley Mustangs continued on their tour of dominating whoever it is in front of them. The unlucky team this time was Wheat Ridge who they blew out from start to finish. The player that led them is the player that has been on a tear all season long and that is Caleb Rillos. The senior athletic big made sure to get inside and make Wheat Ridge pay. They had nobody that could match his size and physicality and he has shown himself as a force down on the block. He was also able to get out and space the floor as he knocked down a 3-pointer in the game.
Luke O’Brien – Columbine
This was not one of his huge games where he stacks the stat sheet but was able to still have a good game in a low scoring game for the Rebels. He finished with 19 points in the game and also knocked down two of his three 3-pointers in the game. When he gets inside he either finishes it or gets fouled where he is pretty good on the year. He also had eight rebounds and four steals to go along with it in which he turned those into scoring opportunities.
Mountain Vista
Mountain Vista had three players all finish with 17 points apiece which shows the depth that they have. Reece Kelly is having a sensational year as the team’s leading scorer but got help from both Rhys Pulling who showed he is able to have these big games where everything seems to be clicking and Nathan Miller also had an ultra-efficient game. 15 of Miller’s 17 points came from the 3-point line, Kelly also had four 3-pointers and Pulling scored in various ways. When Mountain Vista’s offense is clicking like this then they are a dangerous team.
Luis Miera — Bear Creek
Bear Creek lost to a really good Evergreen team but in the loss, Luis Miera was able to get himself going. He finished with 24 points in the game as the only player to finish in double figures. He hit three 3-pointers in the game, got to the FT line and also led his team in assists as he had four assists as well. He is the leading scorer for Bear Creek and can score in various ways. He is going to need a bit more help in the scoring department if the Bears plan on turning things around.
