Jalen Scott 6’1 2020 shooting guard St. Pats/St.Vin scored 16 points while dropping three 3’s in the game. Scott is a good shooter but can be streaky at times. When he’s on you have to account for his whereabouts. He plays an important role on this team and they need his outside shooting, and consistency to go with the other parts.
Tyler Brinkman 6’5 2020 Salesian forward. He’s starting to look like the glue guy on this team. His play has become more consistent over the course of the season. He’s not scoring a lot, but the extra pass, rebounding, defending taller players on the wing. His shot selection is better.
Jack Byer 6’4 2020 guard De La Salle. Byers is the only starting senior on the young squad. As the season progresses he’s poised to lead this young group. He’s also another shooter on this team that can knock down the 3. He hit three in this game they desperately needed to get the win. He finished with 12 points.
Jalen Pierce 6’7 2020 forward Dublin. This prospect has become an important player for this team. In the early part of the season he wasn’t playing much, now he’s starting and adding an inside presence, and taking on the other teams bigger players. He’s a bit more physical. He’s rebounding and setting good screens.
Alonzo Washington 6’5 2021 forward De La Salle. It’s not all about points, sometimes you get a prospect like Washington that’s willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. I’ve seen him come off the bench and he’s started a few games too. At 6’5 he’s one of the bigs for this team. He’s a good player around the basket, he rebounds, and gets put backs with his quickness. He can hit the elbow jumper, and he’s a threat in transition.
Matt Radell 6’6 2022 forward Campolindo. This prospect has accepted his role as an inside post player on this state championship team. He’s an improved player. He’s developed a nice mid range jumper on the baseline, and he works with more of a purpose in the paint now, his footwork and finishing around the basket helped him score 15 points in this game. His defense on the top Freshman center from NorCal was wasn’t to bad either. He’s not the first or second option on this team, but is certainly needed if this group is going to contend for another state title.
