Continue ReadingI have only went halfway through my schedule but have seen some players stock rise in the senior, junior and sophomore classes. We will release the updated rankings after the HS season is over.
Here are the seniors:
Anthony Giliberto PF 6’8 Paradise Valley
-Face-up 4-man is skilled, has great hands and is a high level rebounder. One of the main reasons the Trojans are ranked #7 in 5A.
Griffin Lamb C 6’8 Gilbert
-The backbone of the team this year has stepped in the middle and played well all year. Coming off an injury that he had to sit out all last year and making a major impact on both ends of the court.
Jorden Josephs SF 6’4 Chaparral (Pictured)
-High-motored athlete is carrying the team this year. They haven’t had the start they hoped for but he gives it his all every outing. He defends every position on the court.
Jacob Patterson SF 6’7 Liberty
-A little bigger, stronger and more skilled than last year. They lost some talent in the off season but are holding their own and currently in the playoffs led by the senior sharp shooter.
Here are the juniors:
Moses Demalek PF 6’6 Paradise Valley
-One of the biggest risers maybe in the state in any class that I have seen so far. He is strong, tough, physical and can score it.
Wyatt Bell CG 6’0 Paradise Honors
-High IQ guard is very skilled and can shoot the cover off the ball. He also missed a lot of basketball last year with an injury and had some huge games while the team was awaiting the arrival of Nate Pickens.
Carson Biggs SG 6’0 Desert Mountain
-Another big time shooter has been making huge shots in every game. He made shots to send games to OT and shots in other clutch moments. They do have a balanced team but he has been the unsung hero of the team early on.
Here are the sophs:
Nathan Calmese PG 6’1 Mesquite
-Avg close to 25 ppg and is making the game look easy. He is shooting it and dishing it out just impressively.
Pascal “PJ” Volz PG 5’11 McClintock
-Went from a freshman team only stud to one of their best players on varsity this year. He shoots it with range and has a good feel for the game.
