Bloomington North:
Tim Brewster – 6’3 2020 SG/PG: Since switching into more of bench role, Brewster has done a good job in embracing it. Had two really tough rebounds and an impressive no-look pass for a score. In any contest, Brewster is always going to be the most athletic player on the floor. Can jump out of the gym all day.
Jeremiah Blair – 6’5 2020 PF: Like I have stated before, Blair is a very powerful/explosive senior. His offense really did not show up in Friday’s game against Reitz but he never folded. Played hard until the final whistle and gave Reitz’s frontcourt a lot of fits down low.
Isaac Vencel – 6’1 2021 SG: I really enjoy watching Vencel play. He is a true SG and when he misses his shot, he goes after it which is rare sometimes to see out of a shooter. He shot the ball really well and stepped in and took a key charge. May be a bit smaller but is tough.
Nick Klaiber – 6’0 2022 PG: assist, c&3: Kaliber had a pretty quiet evening scoring wise but had some really nice assists during the contest. His ball handles were really spot-on and he did not force too much like when I saw him last. Add on a nice catch-and-3-pointer, Klaiber had a solid night.
JaQualon Roberts – 6’5 2023 SF: C&3: Roberts is for sure a “work in progress” for only being a freshman, but is already leaps ahead of his development I feel. His 3-point shot had been nonexistent the first few times I saw him but this past Friday he knocked one down on his first attempt.
Bryce Petty – 5’11 2023 PG/SG Really likes to play off the ball a lot when on offense. Petty is a really good defender and always seems to be locked in. Jump shot may need a little more work but he drives really well. Would like to see him handle the ball a little more as well. Overall solid guard.
Evansville Reitz:
Mar’Quan Givens – 5’11 2020 PG: I said this before about Givens, but he is just a bully of a PG. He is stout and has some good handles. I also like how smart he is on offense and does a good job with running it. He occasionally shows off his jump shot but likes to drive most of the time. He is a good senior guard.
Khristian Lander – 6’2 2021 PG: Kristian Lander had an incredible game this past Friday. He was all over the court scoring, blocking, stealing, and pretty much doing whatever else. This player is special and there should be no question why this player is in the running for Mr. Basketball. He can shoot, drive, defend, and all of the above.
Owen Dease – 6’6 2021 SF: Dease probably has the smoothest jumper for a SF in the whole state. In the first half he already had 4 3s and just kept adding more as the game went on. He also added a real nice baseline-reverse layup as well. Such a long, smooth player.
Ethan Higgs – 6’3 2021 SG: Higgs is the type of player that does the dirty work for his team. He grabs boards, steals, and can score when he needs to. Had a nice fadeaway and jump-fake shot in Friday’s game. This player plays hard and is one of the more important pieces for Reitz.
Isaac Higgs – 6’0 2023 PG: Higgs is a young guard who has a long body frame to his build. Wasn’t as involved on the offense like when I saw him last but did a good job on the defensive end. Does a real good job with rebounding and makes it tough for his matchup to get shots off because of his long arms. Higgs is the type of prospect that is going to get better and better each year.
