The 6’3” freshman has been very solid every time we have seen him flashing potential. This was his breakout game in our eyes. He came off the bench and impacted the game on both ends of the floor. Tough wing defender that has active hands and got several steals. Excellent wing rebounder that had multiple put backs. It was his shooting that caught our attention. Free and easy release and let it go with a ton of confidence. Knocked down an array of threes. Pretty good handles at a young age. Trending as one of the better freshman in the state early in the process. We caught up with him to chat about his first year of high school basketball.
“It is going good. I have learned a lot playing varsity. They are using me on the court more and I am learning new things every day.”
Coleman is currently coming off the bench. He spoke about his role for the Catholic League team.
“My role is playing hard, taking open shots, and being aggressive. Coach tells me to be aggressive. He knows I have the skill set to do multiple things whether it is down low or on the wing.”
With Coleman and top 2022 center Kyle Thomas this group has the looks of one that could be a factor down the line.
“We have a real good future. I feel like we can go down state and make noise in the next few years.”
What does he bring to the table as a player?
“I am a versatile player that can shoot, dribble, and play inside-out. I rebound and do a lot of different things.”
Right now he doesn’t have much cooking on the recruiting front. Expect that to change in a major way!
