It was sold out for seven straight games with an awesome atmosphere and high level play on the court. Here we breakdown the prospects at the event with Highland Shootout: Wisconsin Evaluations!
Patrick Baldwin Jr (Hamilton, WI – 2021)
Baldwin was the top prospect in this event and he more than proved that against Chaminade. Wow was he impressive with his play! The 6’9” small forward is one of the most skilled players from a national stand point we have seen in recent memory. Opened up with a pair of feathery jumpers and from that point it was on! He had the crowd in the palm of his hands. Slippery drives to the cup handling and finishing with either hand equally well. Long strides allow him to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. High-level three scorer. One area that I was really impressed with was his passing. High level decision maker that throws bullet passes. Great rebounder on the defensive end and swatted four shots. Some of the comps we see are some form of Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Jayson Tatum. Those guys are doing ok! He had 29 points (11-19 FG) and 12 rebounds.
Carson Smith (Hamilton, WI – 2020)
This senior guard brought leadership, shot making, and skill in the backcourt. Smith scored in the lane on scoop shots and finished multiple times around the hoop. Also connected on 2-6 from three point range showing sound form on his shot. Smith had 18 points (7-13 FG) and 2 steals.
Tanner Resch (Hamilton, WI – 2021)
Resch is a 6’1” scrappy lead guard that brings a lot of grit to the table. Went 2-8 from the land of three. Like what he brought to the table as a passer. Found Baldwin in situations to succeed and was a key cog in their victory. He had 14 points (6-12 FG), 3 rebounds, and 3 dimes.
