Northside-Jax vs Jacksonville HS: If you live on the East side of the state, you already know that this rivalry goes back many years. The stands will be packed for this one as Northside-Jax will look to extend their winning streak against the Cardinals. Players to keep an eye on are Senior F Quincy Martin Jr and Junior Wing Aaron Oates for the Monarchs. Sophomore Shawn Jones is leading his team in scoring on the season at 10 PPG.
Village Christian vs Trinity Christian: This game doesn’t need any hype, the gym will be sold out once the girls game begins and there is no love lost between either team. Village won the first matchup and can put their stamp on being the best private school in the city with another win. However Trinity will come into the matchup on a 14 game winning streak and will look to regain bragging rights as well as taking leadership of the conference #1 spot. VCA Senior Zavian Mclean has been incredible all season long putting up monster scoring numbers , while Sophomore Guard Jalen Higgins has come into his own as of late. TCS has gotten nice production from Senior Forward Todd Burt while Sophomore Freddie Dillione has been on a hot streak the last few games including a game winner vs Northwood Temple.
Kinston vs Washington: Washington recently picked up a win over Greene Central for the first time in a very long time and played well against Farmville Central early this season. Kinston is a 2A state championship contender and features quite a few college prospects. The backcourt Of Senior Rashod Smith and Junior Omarion Blount have played well for Washington HS while Kinston has got things done by committee. Senior Guards Isaac Parson & Chance Minott take care of things in the backcourt while Senior Forward Jaquan Mosley has played well & Junior Wing Dontrez Styles has been outstanding putting up double/doubles on a regular basis.
Topsail vs Laney: This matchup features some nice under the radar talent on both squads and has a chance to be a very good matchup. Topsail HS Senior Guard Jamison Long who can score the ball at a nice rate while Laney HS features Senior Forward Demarcus McLaurin who is a double/double type player and Junior Guard Makoa Surigao who has shown his ability to knock down the deep ball as well as defend at a nice level.
Beddingfield vs Southwest Edgecombe: It would be wise to check the rims in the gym before the game starts. Southwest Edgecombe Senior G/F Keishon Porter is a high flying player that can also get buckets at a very high rate . He’s put together numerous 30+ point performances already and is a tough player to defend once he gets going. Beddingfield HS features Senior Forward Avery Huggins who has some nice athletic ability of his own and has put up solid numbers this year.
