The Bulldogs have a talented roster, led by Sean Pedulla but two players in particular stuck out on Friday night against Choctaw: Sophomore forward JV Seat and junior Seyshon Spotwood.
Seat scored 17 points on post-ups, offensive rebounds, and steals. Seat got his team-high the hard way, which makes it all more impressive. His athleticism is very deceptive for his size and his frame. As just a sophomore, Seat is 6-foot-4 and has a sturdy frame. The moment where I realized his clear athletic advantage, was on a regular fast break where he comfortably dunked the ball. A 15-16-year-old kid at his height and weight ideally shouldn’t be able to do what he did, but that’s what makes him so special for Memorial.
Spotwood has been a work in progress since his freshman year and I’ve watched him through it all. It was refreshing to watch his hard work over the years come to fruition on Friday where he scored 15 points.
Edmond Memorial is easily a state tournament team and anything short of a semifinals appearance would be disappointing for a team with this talent.
