This will be a two part series, featuring a number of different players who can impact the game with their shooting. In part two we will look at players who have a few less attempts from long range but are shooting it at a high rate.
Kai Bertram – Littleton High School (Sr.)
Kai has scored double-figures in all eight of his games so far this season, with his high of 34 against Woodland Park in a victory. He is currently shooting 34/84 from long distance for forty percent on the year so far, he is a volume shooter with five attempts being his low. He has knocked down a three in every game, he has also had three games in which he has hit six threes. He is currently averaging: 20.3 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.0 SPG for Littleton so far this season, his 20.3 PPG leads the team.
Ezekial Estrada – Kennedy High School (Sr.)
Ezakial is also another player who has scored double-figures in all eight of his games to begin the year. He has a season high of 41 against Trinidad in a victory in which he went six of eight from three-point range. He is currently shooting 32/58 for fifty-five percent from long distance to begin the year. He is averaging: 22.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 3.1 APG, 2.4 SPG through eights games so far for Kennedy, his 22.9 PPG leads the team on the season.
Taylor Kline – Arvada West (Sr.)
Taylor has scored twenty or more points three times so far this season in the seven games Arvada West has played so far. He ended the break strong with two, twenty point performances. One came in a close game to Monarch were the lost 52-53, he dropped 20 points on six of thirteen from behind the arc. He followed that up with a 23 point effort in a win against Lakewood before the break, in a 69-34 victory. He is currently shooting 31/77 for forty percent on the year, he is also a volume shooter, with attempting ten or more threes in five of the seven games so far. He is averaging: 16.3 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 1.6 APG, 1.6 SPG, his 16.3 PPG leads the team to start the year.
Elijah Cook – Conifer (Sr.)
Elijah is averaging: 15.8 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 1.4 APG, 2.0 SPG for Conifer to start the season, he has scored double-figures in six of the eight games. He is currently shooting 27/56 from long distance for forty-eight percent. He benefits from having the top passer in the state (10.6 APG) in Landon Wallace as his point guard in the back-court. Elijah has hit five or more threes in three games so far this season, as well as hitting a three in every game. He does a nice job of relocating without the ball and spaces the floor well.
Caden Gigstad – Ralston Valley (Sr.)
Caden has scored double-figures in all eight games of the year so far this season, he is currently averaging: 16.4 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 3.8 APG, 2.9 SPG for Ralston Valley early on this year to help lead them to a 7-1 start. He is currently shooting 27/72 from three-point range for thirty-eight percent. He has attempted seven or more threes in every game this season and he has hit two or more in all eight games. His 3.8 APG is a team leading, he’s a smart player that makes the right decision if the shot isn’t there. Caden is also a strong defender, leading the team in steals.
