This year has seemed like a down-year for both teams, but tonight could change each team’s momentum. Offensively, both teams offer equal statistics with Westside averaging 68 PPG on 47% shooting and Creighton Prep averaging 67.5 PPG on 49% shooting.
For Westside, the ball goes through senior Jadin Booth who is averaging 18.6 PPG on 50% shooting. Outside of Booth, Westside spreads the ball around having seniors Carl Brown and Patrick Ngambi and sophomore Chandler Meeks averaging double-digit PPG.
For Creighton Prep, junior AJ Rollins is the player to watch. Averaging 15.2 PPG and 8.0 RPG (3.4 ORPG), Rollins has been dominant all season. Creighton Prep relies on their tough-nosed defense and power-style of play. Overall, they should be attacking the post most of the game.
To pull off another upset, Westside will need to utilize the 3-pointer and often. It will be hard to attack the lane with Rollins under center. At home, I see Westside pulling it off in a sold-out court.
Prediction: Westside 64, Creighton Prep 59
