This is when the top players decide to put a list together and think about where they would like to play their college basketball. This is done so they could possibly make a decision before their senior season begins. This is not the case for all players. Some believe that waiting will benefit them. The regular season is well underway and some of the top players in the Class of 2020 are still unsigned. Here are the top players in New Jersey who have not signed for next season.
Cliff Omoruyi | 6’11 C | Roselle Catholic
Omoruyi is the top unsigned player in the state of New Jersey. He is a 6’11 dominant center who is not afraid to play physical. There has been a number of times where Omoruyi went up and over a defender to throw down a dunk. He is also playing on one of the best teams in New Jersey. Omoruyi is averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds per game this season. He has notched one triple-double this season where he also had 11 blocks. Omoruyi recently cut his list to five schools and his decision will be big news whenever he announces it.

Noah Farrakhan | 6’1 PG | The Patrick School
Farrakhan spent last season at IMG Academy before transferring to the No. 1 team in New Jersey. The Patrick School is full of talent in the Class of 2021 including Jonathan Kuminga, but Farrakhan headlines the seniors. He is the No. 5 player in New Jersey and one of the best point guards in the nation. Farrakhan uses his speed and shiftiness to make up for size. He is a strong shooter and an elite ball handler. Farrakhan will give a college program a smart point guard who can run an offense smoothly.

Mounir Hima | 7’0 C | St. Benedict’s
You will not encounter many true seven-footers around the high school scene. Hima is that type of player. His size makes him an elite rim protector. He can rebound effectively and block shots at a high rate. Hima’s agility and body control is what sets him apart. St. Benedict’s is a strong program in New Jersey and they have been for years. Hima is getting top of the line coaching and that will help him at the next.

Amir Williams | 6’3 SG | Linden
Linden is a scrappy team. They have an impressive win over St. Thomas Aquinas this season and gave Roselle Catholic all they could handle for one half. Williams is the leader of the pack this season. The 6’3 guard has been scoring at a high rate as he has reached double-figures in all but two games this season. He is scoring over 12 points per game this season and has four double-doubles.

D.J. Watkins | 6’1 SG | Elizabeth
Watkins has been the best player on the No. 3 team in New Jersey this season. Elizabeth has quickly rose to the top of the rankings behind their sensational season and new head coach Phil Colicchio. Watkins has scored in double-figures in all nine games this season including a season-high 27 points in back-to-back wins. Elizabeth’s success will keep Watkins in the spotlight this season. He is averaging over 15 points per game so far this season.

Myles Ruth | 6’1 PG | Don Bosco
Ruth was one of the impact transfers last season. He decided to play his final two seasons at Don Bosco after beginning at Linden. Ruth began his senior season with a bang. In a win over Newburgh Free Academy (NY), he finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and six steals. This is one of five 20 point games for Ruth already this season.
