Mid-Season All State First Team
Dawson Garcia of Prior Lake. Averaging 30 points and 11 rebounds for the 9th ranked 7-4 Lakers, signed with Marquette. Ranked 26th nationally in the recent Prep Hoops top 500 senior rankings.
Steven Crowl of Eastview, Eastview is 12-2 and a top five team in the state at the moment. Crowl, a Badger signed big ranked 96th in the nation, is scoring over 27 points a game with 11-12 boards a contest.
Kerwin Walton of Hopkins. Walton is a top ten unsigned player in the country (62nd overall) and is the lone double figure scorer (scoring 25 points a contest) on the 6th ranked Royals.
Ben Carlson of East Ridge. Having replaced all but two guys from a year ago, East Ridge is 10-4 with Ben averaging 24 and 11 each game. Carlson, a Badger commit, is ranked 66th in the nation.
Dain Dainja of Park Center. The Pirates are 8-3 on the year and ranked 8th after being the preseason number one. Dainja (Baylor signed and ranked 48th in the country at the moment) is scoring 22 points a game.
Mid-Season All State Second Team
Gabe Madsen of Mayo. The Spartans are 9-3 on the year with Madsen putting up 29 points and 9.6 rebounds a game. A Cincinnati signed plauer ranked 123rd in the country.
Austin Andrews of EP. The Eagles are the number one team in the state facing a tough schedule and continually getting wins with a balanced effort. Andrews is leading that balance at 17 a game.
Drake Dobbs of EP. The ball handler and playmaker of the state’s top ranked team, Dobbs is scoring 17 a game while leading the team in assists. A Liberty signed talent ranked 293rd in the nation.
Tre Holloman of CDH. Our first underclassmen is Tre Holloman, the Raiders standout sophomore. Holloman the 3rd ranked Raiders a dozen points and over nine assists a game.
Charlie Katona of Shakopee. Ranked 5th in the state with a 10-2 record, the Sabers are led by the 18 plus points a game from Katona, a UMD signed forward.
Mid-Season All State Third Team
Henry Abraham of Cambridge. The Bluejackets were expected to be the 7AAAA favorites and Henry was expected to be one of the state’s top scorers. Both are holding true as Cambridge is an impressive 10-1 and Abraham is scoring 33.5 a game.
Zach Lea of Chaska. Lea, a jack of all trades player that give play four spots and be asked to defend just about anywhere, is leading the way ranking in the top two of every Chaska category. Headed to UMD with Andrews and Katona,
Reid Patterson of Lakeville South, The Cougars were the expected section favorites but 11-2 and ranked 10th is a bit more than expected. Patterson, a junior, leads the way with 17 points a game.
J’Vonne Hadley of CDH. The Raiders are ranked 3rd in state with an 11-2 record and Hadley leads the team in scoring at 19 points a game plus five boards a contest. Was recently ranked in the Prep Hoops top 500 for seniors.
Matthew Willert of Buffalo. Buffalo lost two junior starters from last year who were double figure scorers so Willert has shouldered much of the load his classmates left behind scoring 28 plus points a game.
Mid-Season All State Fourth Team
Will Cordes of Shakopee. The Shakopee playermaker is scoring 16 a contest leading his team to 5th in state.
Cameron Steele of Tonka, The Skippers have been a couple games better than expected at 7-4 with Cameron scoring 22 a game.
Blake Remme of Spring Lake Park. The Panthers are an impressive 11-2 with Remme scoring nearly 20 points a contest.
Jake Breitbach of Armstrong. Leading the way for the 7th ranked Falcons (10-1) is Breitbach, a senior who leads the team in scoring and is a top defender.
DT Frierson of Park Center. Frierson is the point guard, the top defender, a 14 point per game scorer, and a top rebounder for the Pirates. Does a lot.
