Charlie Williams – 6’8 C 2022 – Carmel (IN)
***12 points against Evansville Reitz (IN)***
Williams was as impressive as we have seen. He looked much more comfortable with the time on the floor and looking to make plays. He’s not a guy that is going to develop fast but the fact that he was able to show his skills showed his true present value. He has touch to step out and shoot and hit a nice mid-range pull-up and missed a 3 later on. Had a bunch of post touches that he was able to get to his right hand and finish including a spin inside from 6’ out where he finished with length. But, the most impressive thing was his ability to get out in transition where, not once but twice, beat everyone down the floor and finishing first. Needs strength and time but the skill set is deep and should only grow.
Jeff Simmons – 6’6 PF 2022 – Fishers (IN)
***15 points against New Palestine (IN)***
Jeff is a big forward who can really do a number of things at a high-level and plays with energy and toughness. He’s not one to take a play off and will always go hard on each play. Playing more as a faced up forward who can switch it up and back his man down, Jeff showed everything in this one. Will need to show that he can finish a little more crisply at times but does have the ability to put up some massive numbers right now.
Riley Brock – 6’8 C 2022 – Owen Valley (IN)
***2 points against Marshall (IL)****
Brock is a thin post who does have some strength but will need to become more aggressive down the road. He is a functional scorer on dump-offs and around the rim. Has some legit size with a little length on the frame. Looks like he’s close to done growing which should allow his frame to fill out over the next two years. Does get up and down the floor pretty well and will have chances to score as he gets older.
Peter Moe – 6’7 PF 2022 – Cathedral (IN)
***18 points on 7/12 shooting, 14 rebounds against Marion (IN)***
Moe is a growing big who is really starting to develop as an interior presence. He has added quite a bit of strength in the last year, filling out his 6’7 frame. Now, he’s using that to finish tough at the rim and still using a bit of that finesse he had as a freshman. He mixed in a little spin move in the lane, had a mid-range pull-up, and finishing in transition. Liked his mentality where he was just going to finish through defenders. Granted Marion isn’t tall but you still have to look to do it and he had no problems going at them. Still showed he can shoot hitting a nice mid-range pull-up from about 10-12’. There will come a point where that will be added back in and that interior presence will shine at the same time and his development will take off.
