That doesn’t mean that Perry didn’t have a couple of very talented guys, because they did. Those players were senior forward Mason Drake and senior guard Braxton Dale. Drake finished the game with a team-high 15 points and 11 rebounds for Perry and was one of the main reasons why they stayed in contention and ultimately forced overtime in the first place.
Dale was the outside threat for the Maroons. He stayed out of the lane for the most part, but he knocked down three triples and finished the game with 13 points. Two of those threes came in the final stages of the fourth quarter to also help force overtime.
Those two were great for the Maroons but weren’t quite enough for Clinton’s athletic attack. Perry will be a tough out in the playoffs as well because they have such a well-balanced attack.
