Although Cashion seemed to be in control of the game in the first half, Dale still held a lead through the majority of it. That was until the Pirates decided to stall the ball in the second quarter with 1:54 left before halftime, while they led 30-29. That resulted in a turnover, and a Wildcat buzzer-beating layup to turn the tide before the half, up 31-30.
Although Dale wasn’t able to gain that momentum back and ended up losing 53-42, two players still stuck out as stars. Junior Carter Crowe was the leading scorer for Dale with 11 points and they were all hard-earned. Crowe was the player for Dale that did everything he needed to do for his team to win. They just fell short.
Secondly, their senior guard Cedric Scott was the clear-cut most athletic player on Dale’s team. He was quicker, jumped higher and the most physical guy on the team. He only scored eight points, but that wasn’t reflective of the way he played.
Dale may have lost the game, but they aren’t a bad basketball team. Anyone that plays them will get a fight, regardless.
