Cardinal Division
Raymore-Peculiar, Odessa, Raytown, Liberty North, North Kansas City, Lee’s Summit West, Park Hill South, Kearney
Malik Johnson, 6’2, G, 2021, North Kansas City
Johnson is another strong and impactful player for NKC who can contribute offensively as a spot-up shooter and creative shooter off the dribble. He can get to the basket well and is good at using his size and body to feel for position and score around the basket. Also a good defender who looks for steals when they’re available. Johnson scored 15 points and added three steals and one block in their win over Park Hill South and led all scores with 25 in their one point win over Lee’s Summit West. Johnson was named a Cardinal Division All Star.
Josh Prososki, G, 2020, Park Hill South
A seasoned player for Park Hill South who likes to play on the perimeter and take chances from three-point range. He can connect when he finds his shot and can also handle the ball some and move inside and score. He has a lot of confidence as a scoring guard and looks to lead by example when he can. Prososki finished the game with 12 points and one steal. Prososki also had a game high 25 points, had six rebounds and five assists Monday in their big win over Raytown, 70-61
Mike McKnight, G, 2021, Lee’s Summit West
An underrated 3-point shooter who doesn’t always take as many shots as he should. McKnight was second in scoring for Lee’s Summit West (15 points) against NKC and he scored 12 points in their win over Liberty North. McKnight also adds defensive pressure and has quick hands and can force turnovers and makes good passes.
Messias Dockery, G, 2022, Park Hill South
A nice sophomore guard who had 14 points, two assists, two rebounds and one steal in PHS’ win over Raytown, 70-61. He can be a little eager to make plays at times, but he has good intentions and can adjust and get on the board regardless. Dockery has a good game overall and has the ability to operate as a score and a smart defensive player who looks to stay involved in full court situations.
Josh Butler, 6’5, G/F, 2020 Lee’s Summit West
An important player for Lee’s Summit West who had a strong double double in their loss to in NKC on Friday. Butler had 14 points and 10 rebounds, looking to secure boards on both sides of the floor and scored off second-chance looks through his effort. He hit both free throws in the match up and was a physical player who used his size and speed to his advantage underneath the basket.
