Cardinal Division
Raymore-Peculiar, Odessa, Raytown, Liberty North, North Kansas City, Lee’s Summit West, Park Hill South, Kearney
Aaron Franklin, F, 2021, Raytown
Franklin showed a lot of hustle and put up a solid double-double in their OT loss to Raymore-Peculiar. Franklin scored 17 points, had 10 rebounds, two blocks and one steal. He was a terrific defender who secured nine defensive boards and looked to lock down opponents and contest shots. He made very few mistakes and was a leader offensively as well. A rising junior prospect who plays hard and looks to contribute wherever he can.
Colby Baggett, 6’3, G, 2021, Lee’s Summit West
A nice guard for Lee’s Summit West who can handle the ball, force turnovers, and score both inside and out. He has confidence from range and can body up defenders and move inside and score against opponents. Baggett lead scoring for his team in the one point lost against in NKC with 18 points and added six rebounds and two steals.
Cortez Howlett, G, 2020, Raytown
Howlett scored 17 points and a team high nine assists in their OT loss to Ray-Pec Saturday. Howlett has a soft touch and can connect from the field in several types of situations. He was 7-13 from the field overall and shot 50 percent from the field. Also a good and timely defender, Howlett looks to stay in front of the ball and can pick off passes and get in transition and make plays.
Athuai Ding, 6’3, G, 2021, North Kansas City
Ding has a good frame and can contribute on both ends of the floor. He had 12 points in NKC’s Saturday win over Park Hill South and had a game-high six steals, seven rebounds and one block. Ding really knows how to put pressure on the ball and is athletic and shows good vertical speed for his position.
Jake Powers, F, 2020, Park Hill South
Powers works incredibly hard around the basket and has an eye for the ball. He led his team in scoring with 14 points and had one steal and three blocks in their loss to NKC Saturday. His real accomplishment in the game was as a rebounder. Powers led the game with 17 rebounds, 10 of which coming on offense.
