Jordan Ivy-Curry is 6’1 point guard that is having a very big season this year. Last season he led La Marque Cougars to a 21-14 record and they won their district but fell in the 1st round of the playoffs. He also averaged 22.5 points per game last year. This season Ivy-Curry has scored multiple 50 ball games. He is averaging 39.8 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game, 5.1 assists per game, and 4.3 steals per game on the season this year. His team currently sits at 25-6 and are in 1st place in their district. Jordan has also been conducting free training sessions at a park in his home town for elementary students to help teach them the game of basketball.
Jordan has a big-time motor and plays the game with a sense of urgency. He can create from anywhere on the floor, he also creates for his teammates. Has a strong handle on the ball and is a great team leader. He scores the ball at a high rate on all levels. He leads his team in every statistical category. He is a tough on-ball defender with great lateral movement and active hands. Bouncy guard that will dunk it on you every chance he gets. He would be a solid pick up for any Mid-Low Major D1/D2 program.
What makes this season seem easier than last season? I’ve been working ten times harder than I ever did last season, plus this season my goal is to win state. How did you feel that your summer went, and did summer ball give you an extra push? The summer went well, and it was the level of competition plus knowing that every time I stepped on the court they had college coaches from various levels watching me every game. I know that you have some JuCo offers on the table, but talk about your recruitment once you found out that you were an NCAA Qualifier? These past two weeks I have been contacted by Texas A&M, Ball State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, UTSA, Coastal Carolina, and McNeese State. What drives you to play the game the way you do? Just seeing how hard it is to make it out of La Marque. I also want to give hope to other kids from my area. Thank you for your time and may God bless you with a healthy finish to your senior season and your collegiate career.
