When it comes to 4A there is a lot of quality players but they are lead by one of the Mr. Basketball candidates.
6’4 Mason Falslev (Sky View)
While having a stellar year for Sky View once again he is also helped his team remain on top of 4A. He is putting up 21.6 points a game and is always in danger of putting someone on a poster. He has hit 33 three-pointers so you can’t play off of him either. He crashes the boards at both ends and averages 6’5 a game. The end of the season will be interesting if both Fremont and Sky View win it all who will be crowned Mr. Basketball.
6’0 Talon Valdes (Juan Diego)
Talon Valdes has improves his long range shooting which puts a lot of pressure on teams because he is so quick and crafty to the basket. His numbers will continue to increase as teams haven’t found ways to slow him down in region play. He is scoring 17.4 points a game, but he continues to add to that as he is scoring in the mid 20’s in region play.
6’1 Mark Huber (Bear River)
Do not leave this kid open he will bury it. Well he buries them with defenders on him as well. Mark is leading all of 4A in scoring with 22.9 a game. He has great IQ and attracts a lot of attention which helps him get others involved.
6’7 Dallin Grant (Cedar City)
The Division 1 forward has a nice game that is more inside and out. He challenges plays at the rim and gets up and down the court. he is a 14 and 5 player that gets better as the season goes.
6’7 Sam Phipps (Sky View)
Sam is a player that will do his part to help his team win. he has great rim runs and gets back to contest shots in fast paced games. He is always ready to catch something above the rim and pinch it down. 15.8 points a game and 7 rebounds for the best 4A team in the state that can frankly compete with anyone and any classification.
6’6 Justin Rodgers (Tooele)
Justin is a quick jumper as he contest shots and racks up a lot of blocks and altered shots. He is great in the mid-range and has a fast amount of moves that get him to the basket. He is a great free-throw shooter and finishes through contact.
