5. Eaglecrest
Eaglecrest has only lost two games this year, one coming this week to Grandview. This team has had one of the best seasons with a tough schedule. They have arguably the most improved player in the state, Zion Ruckard, who moved up to the number 10 spot in our 2020 rankings. This team has a good seven man rotation but will be tested once again this week when they play Cherry Creek, then our number 3 team Smoky Hill.
4. Grandview
Grandview came off of this week with a big win against Eaglecrest, who were ranked above them previously. Lian Ramero and Caleb McGill are one of the best duos in the state, against Eaglecrest they combined for 41 of the teams 46 points. With this win and an overtime thriller loss from Smoky Hill this team has proved that this duo can carry them in the scoring column with the rest of the team helping out and doing the little things. Grandview has some good games coming up this week when they play Overland then a top 10 Cherry Creek team.
3. Smoky Hill
Despite having an unexpected loss to Overland this week this team still has a spot over Eaglecrest and Grandview due to their win against Grandview; but this may change after this week when they match up against Eaglecrest. The match up to look out for is when Smoky faces off against Eaglecrest; we will see two of the top juniors in the state, Jalen Weaver (Smoky Hill) vs. Ty Robinson (Eaglecrest). Smoky may have the deeper team, being that they are one of the deepest in the state. This team also has another good match up against Arapahoe who is on the verge of being a top 10 team.
2. East
East, being one of the only undefeated teams left in the state, had a big win last Saturday against Chaparral and have yet to have had another big match up since. This young team is one the most talented in the state. With only one senior in the starting line up, Patrick Steed, this team has a bright future as well. Leading the team is sophomore Langston Reynolds who is averaging 21.4 points per game, with an aggressive game attacking the basket and developing jumper from the outside, he can score with ease. They also have Boston Stanton who is averaging 20.4 points per game with one the best strokes from outside in the state. This team has an underrated Valor Christian team to play on Monday and then a good Pomona team later in the week.
1. Rangeview
Rangeview remains undefeated after week 6, I would not be surprised if they go undefeated for the rest of the season. Not too much news on this team since they have claimed their spot at number one in the state. With their depth and chemistry not very many teams can challenge them until the playoffs.
