10. Ralston Valley
Ralston Valley has an impressive record of 12-2 beating some solid teams. This Ralston Valley team is going to battle for the top spot in the Jeffco 5A this year, being one of the best teams in the Jeffco conference. This team has two of the most underrated seniors in the state, Caleb Rillos and Caden Gigstad. Caleb is averaging close to a double-double with 17.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game; and Caden is averaging 16.6 points and 3.9 assists per game. They have other solid contributors, Walker Brickle and Luke Carlston, who add more experience to this veteran squad. Ralston Valley plays a solid Wheat Ridge team this week and a Chatfield squad fresh off a big win.
9. Chaparral
This teams record is deceiving, they have five losses but they have one of the toughest schedules in the state. This past week they beat a good Columbine team led by Kobe Sanders who had a huge 40 point game. Despite having a rough start to the season, the talent on this team was obvious to see; this team is deep and has good height. They have two sophomores who have stepped up this season, big man Joel Speckman and shifty guard Jeremiah Coleman, who are making a huge impact for this team. Another solid contributor is Aaron Jacob who is a big man who can spread the floor with a sweet three point stroke. This team has some challenging match ups coming this week when they play Mountain Vista and Highlands Ranch.
8. Fairview
Fairview has started off where they left off last year, as a top ten team in the state. This is one of the most complete teams in the Colorado having a solid starting five who play basketball the right way. This team is being led by junior Greyson Carter who has quietly become one of the best scorers in 5A. Then big man Jalen Page who can do a little bit of everything, he rebounds the ball, can score inside, hit mid range shots, and find open teammates. This team picked up an impressive win against a good 4A team, Pueblo East, and is looking to keep that rolling this week.
7. Cherry Creek
Cherry Creek is back in full form finally with all of their football players back and playing. These football players add some good size to a smaller Creek team. Those players back are: Arden Walker, Gunnar Helm, and Delonte Dickey, who will help against bigger teams. This team has one of the best juniors in the state, Julian Hammond, who is averaging 22.7 points per game this year. This week they have two very challenging match ups when they play two top five teams, Eaglecrest and Grandview.
6. Columbine
Columbine is having themselves a good season only losing two games so far this year. This team recently got back Washington State football commit Justin Lohrenz who adds a good inside presence for this team. Then, we all know about Luke O’Brien who is having a monster senior campaign averaging 26.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. They have a challenging match up when they play Valor Christian this week who is a sleeper team in Colorado.
