10. Cherry Creek
Cherry Creek has had some early losses when their football players weren’t playing, but they have come back strong. They have only lost one game against a tough team Chaparral. They have a star in Julian Hammond who just picked up an offer from University of Northern Colorado; this year he is averaging 22.3 points, 3.1 assist, 2.8 steals, and 5.8 rebounds from the combo guard position. His teammate Myles Purchase is averaging 11 points, 3 steals, and 3.1 points. These two together are one of the best back courts in Colorado, and they are juniors. Going into a tough league schedule this team has some challenging match ups coming up, but should fare well.
9. Pine Creek
This Pine Creek team has an impressive record of 8-1. They have yet to have played many tough games but have beat the former top 5A Colorado Springs team Fountain Fort Carson twice this year. They are being led by arguably the best shooter in the state, Peyton Westfall, who has unlimited range and can shoot off the dribble and pull up jumpers. They also have a solid big man down low in Kedarian Maul who is a good athlete that can throw down put back dunks. This team has a challenging week that will truly test how good they are when they play Doherty, Pueblo West, and Valor Christian.
8. Ralston Valley
Ralston Valley, this week, went 2-1 losing to Legend but beating a tough Mountain Vista team. This is a veteran group who is very talented and has good height. The best big on the team is Caleb Rillos who is a football star and can ball out on the court. Then they have one of the best senior point guards in Colorado, Caden Gigstad, who has come on to the scene hot this year. Caleb and Caden are each averaging 17 points per game. They have a good match up coming up this week when they play Boulder.
7. Fairview
Fairview has had some tough losses this year but have beat some very good teams. This team is deep and plays together as a team. One of the best players on the team is Jalen Page who plays calm and collected on the court; he is big, gets rebounds, can score inside, and has a deadly mid range jumper. They also have one of the most underrated scorers, Greyson Carter, who is 19.2 points per game. This team has a good rematch when they play Horizon and then they will play a tough 4A team Pueblo East.
6. Grandview
Despite Grandview having four losses they have all been to tough teams. This week they lost in a double OT thriller to our number 2 team Smoky Hill but then went and got a good win against Arapahoe. They have one of the best senior duo in the state in Caleb McGill and Lian Ramero who have led this team. They are both putting up above 13 points per game. They have a tough match up coming up this week when they play Eaglecrest who has yet to lose in state.
