5. Pueblo West
Last week was rough for Pueblo West; they took two losses from two top 5A teams, Valor Christian and Pine Creek. This team has had some good wins and all of their losses were to very good teams. Their most consistent player this year is senior point guard Taylor Harris who is leading the team in points, assists, and steals. They do not have any tough match ups this week which should be a good bounce back week for them.
4. Harrison
Harrison has a young team that is very talented and can hang with anyone in 4A. They had a bad loss last week to Widefield, but with a young team you have to expect some bad losses. Junior Donta Dawson has still been playing like one of the best players in his class averaging 20.7 points and 8 rebounds per game. This team has a very tough week ahead when they play two top 15 4A teams, The Classical Academy and Thomas Jefferson, and then they have their rivalry game against Sierra.
3. Longmont
This past week Longmont beat up on Centaurus, who was thought to be a top 4A team. This team has one of the more underrated players in the class of 2021, Eddie Kurjack, who is an athletic 6’8 big man. They also have senior Dallas Dye who is having a strong season and bringing some good experience to the team. They have no tough games coming up this week, but are definitely a team to look out for.
2. Mead
Mead has had one of the best seasons in the state so far not losing a game since the first of the season. They are being led in scoring by sophomore Elijah Knudsen who is one of the best shooters in the state. They also have the big man down low, sophomore James “JP” Shiers, who is a presence that many teams do not have. This team has some challenging match ups this week when they play Erie and Holy Family.
1. Cheyenne Mountain
Cheyenne Mountain is the only undefeated team left in 4A. They had a good win this past week when they beat Sand Creek. New Mexico commit Javonte Johnson has been killing it for Cheyenne Mountain leading the state in points per game. This week he had a crazy game dropping 50 points! This team has a decent challenge when they play Air Academy this week.
