Nahsyah Bolar, Northfield- 11.8 rebounds per game
Bolar is a player that we understood would make a jump this season, but not like this. He has Northfield in the top-10 and he is leading them in points at 17.2 points a game but he is not only using that 6’7 frame to dominate down low on the offensive end but also changing the outcome of games with his rebounding and protecting the paint as well. He is ultra-athletic and moves well with the size and his 11.8 rebounds a game is leading all of 4A to begin the season.
Nick Norris, Fort Morgan – 11.7 rebounds a game
Fort Morgan is one of the highest-scoring teams in all of 4A as they have multiple guys that can put the ball in the basket. As great as their scoring is one of the more impressive players on the team is Norris who also is amongst the state leaders in rebounds. He uses his big 6-4 frame to move defenders and he is also able to get great positioning. He scores when he wants and also boards and it is why he is one of the more difficult players to prepare for.
Javonte Johnson – Cheyenne Mountain – 11.3 rebounds a game
Johnson has sketched his name in for a top-2 player in the state with the way that he has started the season and the scary thing is he is looking for more. He is putting up an incredible stat line of 28 points a game and also has helped out on the boards as well. His 11.3 rebounds a game while also being able to score the basketball from all three levels has him on a level that not many other players are in. Having the size and mindset to do the dirty work as well is why he is a Division I player and state’s best.
Seth Newton, Canon City – 9.3 rebounds a game
The Colorado Springs Metro League has some teams ready to make a splash this year and is doing pretty well as a league to begin the season. One of those teams is Canon City and it is behind their best player, junior forward Seth Newton who is off to an impressive 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds to go along with it.
Ocean Hageman, Conifer – 8.9 rebounds a game
Conifer is a fun team that plays basketball the right way. They make the extra pass, they are feisty and get after it and also they one of the better hustle players in the state that boxes out, keeps plays alive and is very active on the boards in Hageman. Hageman putting up 8.9 boards a game and is an under the radar standout that is full of energy and upside for the Lobos. He does not give up on plays and is a player that coaches would be excited to have play for them as he does what is needed.
