Sam Vinson Sam Vinson 6'3" | CG Highlands | 2021 State KY , Highlands – It’s not often a player goes from unranked to top 15 and holding a D1 offer but that’s the position Vinson is in. Having a huge Junior season, Sam was recently offered a scholarship by Northern Kentucky coach Darrin Horn. Vinson is averaging 25 points per game with shooting splits of 54/37/83 and leading the team in rebounding at 9.2 boards per game. Highlands has played a pretty weak schedule but they have some tough games coming up and should allow Sam to show he is worthy of the recent hype.
Trevor Hardin Trevor Hardin 6'6" | PF Henry County | 2021 State KY , Henry County – Coaches and scouts will tell you that a great motor is a tremendous skill for a prospect and that’s exactly what Trevor possesses. He’s big and strong and a dunking machine. There are times when Hardin reminds me of former 8th region star Carson Williams. With his motor and skill level combined with good size at the forward spot, don’t be surprised if Trevor ends up impressing some coaches this upcoming AAU season.
Delshawn Sims Delshawn Sims 6'0" | PG Seneca | 2021 State KY , Seneca – One of the best point guards in Louisville, Sims has gone from unranked to highly ranked thanks to some impressive performances this season. Averaging 17 points per game for a Redhawk team that is a real contender in Louisville, some have started to say that Delshawn is the best point guard in the city. While he hasn’t earned that accolade yet, there aren’t many better PGs in the city than the leader of the Redhawks.
Jevonte Turner Jevonte Turner 6'2" | CG Knox Central | 2022 State KY , Knox Central – Turner reminds me of another 13th region star, Senior Matt Cromer Matt Cromer 6'2" | CG South Laurel | 2020 State KY . Jevonte can play either guard spot and has the ability to beat his man and get to the rim or knock down open shots from outside. He’s also a good rebounder, second on the team at 6.7 boards per game. Posting shooting numbers of 58/43/71 is impressive and Turner has his team in position to contend for a 13th region title yet again.
Tredyn Thomas Tredyn Thomas 6'2" | SG Pendleton County | 2021 State KY , Pendleton County – Tired of being known as “Dontaie Allen’s brother” Tredyn has made his own name this season as he’s averaging 20 points per contest and shooting 57% from the field to go along with 41% from three. Thomas is skilled and plays without fear as he will put his head down and get to the rim and finish through contact as he is averaging almost 7 made free throws per game, several of those being the “and 1” variety.
Ben Craig Ben Craig 6'3" | PF Eastern | 2021 State KY , Eastern – His younger teammates get a lot of the press but Craig is one of the biggest difference makers for the Eagles. Craig has the versatility to play inside or out and is a capable shooter from distance and a good rebounder at almost 6 per game. Many of his contributions don’t show up in the box score but Ben is a leader and does a lot of the dirty work for his team on a nightly basis.
Deaton Oak Deaton Oak 6'3" | SG Oldham County | 2021 State KY , Oldham County – Oak has seemingly come from nowhere to be one of the top Juniors in the 8th region and a lights out shooter. Deaton is making 2.6 threes per game at 41% shooting from deep and that type of shooting opens up the floor for his teammates who are more of the slashing type. While baseball is his primary sport, Oak is making an impact on the hardwood too.
Tyler Bush Tyler Bush 6'5" | SF Ryle | 2021 State KY , Ryle – Bush had a good day at our PH 250 Camp last August and earned a spot in the top 100. His Junior season has been a little up and down but with his size and shooting ability, Bush is a nice small college prospect that is in line for a much bigger role at Ryle next season and should be one of the go-to scorers in the region.
