Jalen Ashley – Rock Canyon
Somehow, someway Jalen Ashley was not ranked in our last updates ranking but that is really just a mistake on our part as Ashley has been leading Rock Canyon to wins over the past few seasons. In his senior season he is putting up 14.8 points a game and not only has he made the list but he comes in as the No.33 player in the class and could probably move up a couple of spots. He is a two-way player that scores with ease in the open court. He can score from all three levels and also can pull off dunks as well. He deserves to be on the list.
Axel Henry – Sterling
Sterling has been an interesting team to watch over the years as they come out and compete every single night and they also have some players that are going to get after it. This season, they are off to another good start at they are 9-2 on the year with a 73-67 thrilling loss over the No.1 team in 3A in Resurrection Christian and their best player has been Axel Henry. Henry is putting up 19.5 points a game and also leading the team in assists as well at 3.6 dishes a game. He is a four-year varsity player that is a playmaking sharpshooter that is shooting lights out right now. He comes in at a good spot on our list and definitely will rise by the time the season is up. He will surely play basketball at the next level.
Brock Shalla – Sterling
Sterling has a two-headed senior scoring combo option as they have four players averaging in double figures. Axel Henry is their playmaking guard that can play on and off-ball but Shalla is their scrapper that gets his baskets the hard way. He is putting up 16 points a game and 2.6 steals to go along with it as he has a nose for making plays and puts himself in spots to make things happen. He has stepped out and had a few big games as a scorer but his work on the defensive end is what separates him and makes him a good player. He is willing to use his body and he is an in your face defender that does not shy away from contact. He plays the passing lanes and turns those turnovers into baskets. He is a good player that jumped on our radars and now is ranked and in the Top-50 players in the class.
RaShiek Gaddis – Northfield
Northfield is a team that has jumped on the scene and has made vast improvements this season. They have entered the 4A Top-10 as they have a balanced team with a solid big man, wings that get to their spots and solid guards as well. Of those solid guards, Gaddis is a standout as he has a confident game with a solid outside shot and also gets to the rim and finishes. Gaddis is putting up 8.1 points a game but has a game whose impact goes beyond numbers. When Northfield needs a big shot, he delivers. He is now ranked.
Tjai Jackson – Hinkley
Hinkley is a team that seemed to have burst onto the scene and now no matter what you’re hearing about them weekly. They are an entertaining bunch that scores in bunches and one of their standouts on the year has been Senior guard Tjai Jackson who is putting up 14.3 points in 15 games played. What you have to enjoy about Jackson’s game is the confidence. There are not many shots that he does not like and he is not turning down open looks. He is going to get his shot off, use his speed to get to his spots and he is going to attack. He is also a player who takes pride in his defense and with just over two steals a game it is easy to see why he is a standout for the team. He jumps onto our radar and is now the No.53 ranked player in the class after going unranked last year.
