[17 → 7] Max Land | 6-4 SG | Moeller
Land’s ball skills — particularly his ability to shoot off the dribble — have improved every year. Right now, he is shooting 46 percent from 3-point range this season and 79 percent at the free throw line. Once upon a time, we had questions about Land’s shot selection, too, yet he has discovered a role that plays to his strengths. St. Francis (PA) recruit.
[66 → 36] Jadakis Mack | 6-3 SG | Lima Senior
Mack is one of Ohio’s best pure athletes. He can defend the ball at an elite level, causing turnovers and grabbing rebounds in traffic. The unsigned senior is dynamic attacking the basket in transition or on a straight-line-drive. No offers.
[134 → 48] Keaton Turner | 6-0 PG | Coffman
Unsigned senior with a crafty, slippery handle and the ability to hit shots after creating separation. Turner is very effective working with a ball screen but doesn’t necessarily need one to create offense for himself and others. Capable of shooting from distance off the bounce. No offers.
[102 → 50] Ketaan Wyatt | 6-2 PG | Rogers
Well-rounded point guard prospect with poise and collegiate physical tools. Offensively, Wyatt thrives as a spot-up shooter and drive-and-kick player who makes late passes once the defense collapse. Defense has become his major strength, though, where he sits down in a wide stance and is quick enough to stay in front of anybody.
[132 → 55] Qian Magwood | 6-1 PG | Walnut Ridge
Magwood removes point guards from the game, both mentally and physically. He punks kids with his intimidating point of attack defense. Plays hard and physically. On offense, he knows personnel and gets his guys the ball where they can be successful. Conducts the show in the halfcourt and shows elusive skills in transition. Football three-star prospects with several offers, none in hoops.
[99 → 65] Shammah Scott | 6-2 SG | Shaker Heights
Scott’s scoring package has developed from flashy to efficient in a short time. He needs few dribbles to score it in the mid-range or at the basket. Showing more creativity and authority while finishing in traffic. Fairmont State offered in June.
[179 → 71] Chase Poston | 6-4 SG | Fairfield Union
Poston de-committed from Malone this week. A quick first step and shooting ability, paired with his slender 6-foot-4 body, are his most appealing traits. Gets to the basket in a hurry attacking close-outs or ripping through. Comes off screens ready to shoot or attack. His lateral quickness gives him upside as a defender as he adds size to his frame. Plays well in structure.
[121 → 75] Curtis Jackson | 6-6 PF | Rogers
Jackson’s pop off the floor, spot-up shooting flashes, and powerful upper body is an enticing combination. He is becoming more consistent as a player and discovering his inner-dog. Good touch from the elbow or 3-point range. Runs the floor with grace. No offers.
[175 → 117] Nate Brighton | 6-4 SF | Evergreen
At last check, Brighton was averaging 18.3 points and 13.3 rebounds for a 10-1 Evergreen team. His production backs up what our eyes told us in September at the Toledo Top 64, where he was one of the most pleasant surprises. Brighton is a combo forward who can shoot it or put it on the floor for physical drives. He rebounds like a true post yet hasn’t completely filled out yet. Will be an impactful, versatile Division III ballplayer, in our opinion.
[184 → 153] Zane Leitwein | 6-2 SG | Gahanna
Leitwein has shined with more playing time for this undefeated Lions team. He’s a floor-spacing, knock-down shooter who understands his role. Cleanly shoots the pull-up after one dribble if he needs to get past a close-out or find more space. Bendy athlete with quickness. Flashes creative finishing ability.
