Things went back and forth in the second half
The NW Guilford Vikings and Northside Vikings battled back and forth for supremacy in the 2020 Chance Harman Classic. It looked like NW Guilford had given Northside all they could handle after three quarters when they held a 14-point, but they kept fighting back in the fourth. Despite their 27-15 run, NW Guilford held on in the end thanks to some timely free throws from some key members.
Hampton fills up the stat sheet
Unsigned senior guard Christian Hampton had another game where he filled up the statsheet for the NW Guilford Vikings with 21 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals. He was aggressive with the ball in his hands, much more so than their contest last night and it showed in the end result, as it came in a 77-75 victory.
Dean Reiber unstoppable in Game 2 of the CHC
In their first game, 2020 forward Dean Reiber had just 16 points, making just five field goals in the five-point loss. Against Northside, Reiber made his touches count, finishing with 27 points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks in NW Guilford’s win over Northside. He had a solid outing in the paint and on the perimeter, showing off his all-around floor game.
Jordan Wooden stepped up for Northside
One bright spot for the Northside Vikings despite the result was the play of 2020 forward Jordan Wooden. Wooden finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds (6 offensive) and three assists while draining three 3-pointers in the contest. He fought until the very end for his squad and was all over the floor making things happen.
Jamison Foley is an aggressive asset
6-foot-3 junior guard Jamison Foley is another prospect on the Northside rotation to keep an eye on. When given opportunities, Foley didn’t hesitate to get to the rim and make a play for Northside. 12 of his 20 points came in the second-half comeback for the Vikings.
