Here’s a look at the best unsigned players in the city of Western Kentucky. For our purposes, Western Kentucky is defined as regions 1-4.
Kenny White Kenny White 6'7" | SF Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2020 State #357 Nation KY , Madisonville-North Hopkins – Kenny holds a handful of D1 offers and is off to a great start to his Senior season. White is averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds per game while shooting 64% from the field through 4 games. White will likely get a couple more offers before the season ends and will be a D1 signee in the spring.
Ksuan Casey Ksuan Casey 6'9" | C Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2020 State KY , Madisonville-North Hopkins – Kenny’s teammate is a different type of player but is off to another great start in his Senior season. Ksuan is averaging 16.5 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Maroons. He was offered by Evansville and Morehead State back in the summer and should be a D1 player but could also wind up at prep school due to his age. He won’t turn 18 until the fall.
Dre Boyd Dre Boyd 6'4" | SG Warren Central | 2020 State KY , Warren Central – A ferocious competitor who has previously played off the ball but is transitioning to more of an on the ball role, Boyd is averaging 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game early in the year. Dre has mutliple NAIA offers and could definitely help a team at the D2 or low D1 level.
Nik Sorrell Nik Sorrell 6'0" | PG Glasgow | 2020 State KY , Glasgow – One of the best scorers in the Senior class, the Glasgow guard was a standout at our 250 Expo in August and is off to an electric start to the season, averaging nearly 30 points per game. Sorrell should be a very good small college guard. Scoring translates to the next level and that is Nik’s strength.
Ben Carroll Ben Carroll 6'6" | PF Greenwood | 2020 State KY , Greenwood – The 6’6 forward is off to a solid start to his Senior season, averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds per game with shooting splits of 53% from the field and 41% from three but the lack of free throw attempts (only 3 attempts in 3 games) is a cause for concern. So far, Carroll has shot more 3s than 2s on the season but his stock would likely see a boost if he showed his post abilities more often. Ben should be a solid D2/D3/NAIA player.
Kobe Brents Kobe Brents 5'9" | SG Warren Central | 2020 State KY , Warren Central – Brents has deep range on his jumper and is a big time shooter who is overlooked due to his lack of height. Although Kobe predominantly plays off the ball, he can be more of a combo and handle the ball if necessary. He has yet to play in a game this season but Kobe should be a college player.
Tyler Stokes, Marshall County – One of the few on this list who holds an offer, D2 Quincy offered Stokes this summer. Zion Harmon Zion Harmon 5'10" | PG Marshall County | 2021 State #52 Nation KY is getting all the headlines this year but Stokes is a far more efficient player than Harmon as hes shooting 67% from the field to Harmon’s 44%. Stokes is also averaging 13.3 rebounds per game and that should put him near the top in the state.
Jaden Franklin Jaden Franklin 6'5" | PF Glasgow | 2020 State KY , Glasgow – After missing last season with a torn ACL suffered during the football season, Franklin is back in a big way this year, averaging 20.2 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the field. Assuming he continues on the trajectory he’s on (and wants to play basketball in college) Franklin is the type of athlete who will blow up at unsigned Senior events in the spring.
