Players of all levels took the floor and there are quite a few that college coaches should be adding to their watch list. So with that being said let’s take a look at some of the Standouts from this event.
West Brunswick Senior Guard Jadyn Parker: We first got the chance to see him as a sophomore who had plenty of upside but was a work in progress. Now seeing him in his senior year after years or work, he has developed into a nice player and still hasn’t reached the peak of his potential. He’s a legit 6’9 with long arms , running the PG for his squad but also dominating inside the paint. One of the attributes that we really like about his game now is how aggressive he is to attack the basket regardless of physical contact. UNF got the early commitment and signing from him and they should be very excited about the potential he has to be special over the next four years. Was named MVP of the tourney after having multiple 20 point/20 rebound games.
Scotland County HS Senior Guard Garrett McRae: A very talented youngster that colleges should be on at this point, he averaged 25 PPG in the tournament and was named to the All-Tourney Team. He has nice end to end speed to go along with his ballhandling skills and craftiness to finish plays. Schools at the D2 level such as CIAA and so on should be in to see him while he’s a steal for any program if he drops lower than that.
West Bladen HS Senior Guard Tyre Boykin: Hands down was one of the best players that we saw throughout the day . Already has the physique of a college level PG and made some nice plays throughout the day. You can see that he is looking to prepare himself for the next level as he didn’t try to score to much on his own but instead made plays for others.
Dillon Christian Senior Guard Phil Campbell: Runs the show for his squad, good ballhandler that knows how to read his defender well. Can shoot the outside shot but doesn’t settle for it. He was constantly communicating with his teammates and coaches, which is always something that you love to see from a PG.
Pinecrest HS Junior Guard Bradlee Haskell: We have said it time and time again, this young man checks off all the boxes for what you want in a D1 PG. Good vision/passing skills, knock down shooting from deep, excellent leadership qualities and so on are all things that he brings to the table. Some MM and LM programs have already shown interest and it’s only a matter of time before schools begin to go ahead and offer.
