This group is no different as there are numerous players who are younger in age but displayed the potential to be good players and ones to keep an eye on.
Dillon Christian Sophomore Guard Ethan Brewington: He’s a hand down man down type of player that’s always ready to get his shot off as soon as it hits his hands. Does a nice job of setting his feet quickly and getting good arch on his shot, shoots it from deep at a high percentage.
Whiteville HS Junior Guard Wendell Smith: Provided a nice scoring spark for his team as soon as the game began. He has a quick first step which he used to get in the lane to make plays but also showed some ability to knock down shots from three point land.
West Bladen Freshman Guard Gary Parker: Brought some energy to the court for his squad and is another player that is an offensive threat due to his ability to slash to the paint. He displayed some good upper body strength which allowed him to finish thru contact, he will be one to keep an eye on for the future without a doubt.
Pinecrest HS Sophomore JJ Goins: Quick guard that provides a nice spark for his squad, can run the show playing PG by using his speed to push the tempo. Has a chance to be a very good defender with his lateral quickness and quick hands, we fully expect him to only get better as time goes on.
Whiteville HS Sophomore Forward/Center John Baldwin: We didn’t get to see him a ton as he didn’t necessarily play a lot of minuets in the game that we saw but he has plenty of upside and will be one to keep an eye on. A legit 6’8 with decent hands and the ability to be coached, you can see that once he turns the corner aggression wise, he can be a player that is an absolute beast in the paint.
