Here were some more of the standouts from Friday’s four games:
2021
Duke Brennan C 6’9 Perry
-An old-school big with soft hands. He grabs every rebound in his area and has great length and strength to block and rebound at a high level. He is very efficient in the paint and has a polished hook shot and does his job.
Christian Tucker PG 6’1 Perry
-A talented scoring lead guard is quickly improving his game. He is a much improved perimeter shooter and makes plays for others. He is best off the catch but started making shots off the dribble. He has a good burst into the lane and takes contact well to score it or get fouled.
Ti Cochrane SF 6’5 Williams Field
-A bouncy wing who gets downhill quickly. He has a good handle and is a very good passer. Plays like a point forward type and is very unselfish. A terrific rebounder offensively and defensively. Gets by his defender and will finish with body control or will make a play off of it.
2022
Dylan Anderson PF 6’11 Perry
-Nationally ranked forward clearly looked the part. Loves facing up and firing away from the 3pt line. He has a smooth stroke and it doesn’t take him many strides to get into the lane to score it. Has a massive wingspan of around 7’3 and uses it to rebound at a high level, block shots and dunk the ball. He is a plus athlete and can play inside and work in the post. Has a soft touch plus nice post footwork. He also has become a good passer, which will help him when he gets doubled team.
2023
Landon Schumaker PF 6’6 Basha
-A cerebral and strong forward who can score it from inside and out. He is a tough cover using a very good handle for position. He has good length with soft hands and an impressive layup package to score over, around or through defenders. He has a nice touch from the FT line and is a physical rebounder and defender. He may end up averaging close to a double-double this year.
Aadem Isai CG 6’0 Valley Vista
-A fun player to view as he has unlimited shooting range and no fear of failing. He is already one of the better players on his team and has that inner confidence to succeed on any stage. He has a fast trigger and is literally near the volleyball line on many attempts. He can pass it with either hand impressively. He understands how to change speeds and can get into the lane or step back on his defender.
