With a handful of match-up’s that we were looking at there were some that lived up to the hype and a few disappointments but it’s early in the season.A few new names and some old names make the list of players that performed well.
Jordan vs. Bountiful
This was one of those games we were looking at as there were some good match-up’s. Dyson Koehler recorded a double-double. Jordan also got a solid performance from Micah Ashman as he put in 19 points. Robert Whaley and Cameron Chism combined for 40 points but it wasn’t enough.
Corner Canyon vs. American Fork
The Chargers jumped all over a depleted AF squad Carter Welling looked good and so did Trace Ross
Pleasant Grove vs. Timpview
Looking at some other pre-season ranking we knew Timpview had a shot and they did against PG as Coleman Ford had himself a game. One of the highest IQ PG’s in the 2020 Class.
Herriman vs. West Jordan
Kase Peterson had a double-double and LeGrand Burgess scored 20 as they had 8 other players score.
Trevon Snoddy- Skyridge
With a solid performance as Trevon tallied up 26 points and hauled in 7 rebounds as he helped make a good 5A team look bad. Trevon is a solid player that does a little bit of everything.
Corbin Zetner- Lone Peak
In his return to Wasatch Academy Corbin scored 29 points and gave Lone Peak a chance but they fell 6 points shy of a major upset.
Taft Mitchell- Orem
Taft had himself a game against Wasatch as he put up 32. Kid is athletic and has a good all-around game.
Talon Valdes- Juan Diego
The speedy guard was able to pace Juan Diego with 24 points shooting over 78% from the field.
Jaden Brownell- Alta
Jaden a nice 6’7 player from Alta had a good game as he scored 23 points. Kid can play and has length to go along with skill.
Derek Smith- Delta
Derek continues were he left off last season as he put up 28 points. Expect big games from this player going forward.
Trace Ross-Corner Canyon
Trace Ross had 23 points in a blowout against American Fork.
Andre Mulibea- East
Andre led all scores as he put up 30 points in a loss.
Collin Chandler-Farmington
Collin scored 36 points to beat East
Jordan Citte- Bonneville
Jordan had 27 points as they fell to Northridge in OT.
Mason Falsev- Sky View
36 points to start off the season
Cameron Millican- Taylorsville
Cam had 26 points as he helped his team win their opening game.
