Village Christian Senior Guard Zavian McLean: He put together the performance of the season so far with one of the more efficient 44 point showings that we’ve seen in a long time. He was aggressive from the jump , constantly attacking defenders and drawing fouls to send him to the free throw line. In three quarters he went for 36 out of 44 points with only two of those shots being three point shots. Columbia University fans should be very excited about his arrival as he not only scores it a ton but he brings the same intensity to the defensive end of the floor.
Village Christian Sophomore Guard Jalen Higgins: We have watched him closely over the past few years and this was another showing where we got the chance to see the potential he has to be special. He caught fire in the third quarter, knocking down 4 out of his 5 total treys and going for 14 points during that period.
Sharpstown HS Junior Josh Farmer: He’s one of the few players that came into this event with some D1 offers already and we saw some flashes of how good he can be. A legit 6’8 with a long wingspan and the ability to stretch his game out to the perimeter, we can see why colleges are excited about his potential.
New Life Christian Senior Guard Dahaun Jones: He’s what we would call a pedal to the metal PG as he is constantly on the attack and causing defenders to retreat. His midrange shooting is automatic and he truly excels in an uptempo style of game which we feel will be the perfect fit for him at the college level.
Sarotosa HS Senior Guard Jackson Mooney: Provided a high amount of scoring for his team as they needed him to be as productive as possible to stay competitive. He has a smooth shooting stroke and a pretty quick release which allows him to get his shot off without much of an issue from defenders.
