Saigal is a three-level scorer who excels as a spot-up shooter. He handles the ball well enough to initiate the offense and has solid court vision and feel. I love his toughness on both end and his intangibles. Not sure what his recruitment is like in NY, but I could see him helping a D2 program.
Jaden Geron, 6-6 2021 W, San Joaquin Memorial
Geron is a long, crafty wing who has one elite skill: he can shoot it with the best of them off the catch. He has a long, lanky frame, and uses his length on the defensive end to cover ground for chase-down blocks in the halfcourt when it appears he’s beat off the dribble. Point Loma Nazarene offered after a strong showing this weekend, but expect D1s to quickly follow suit.
Jalen Douglas, 6-1 2021 G, San Joaquin Memorial
One word describes Douglas: tough. The bulldog of a point guard is a physical defender capable of bottling up opposing guard. On the offensive end, the lefty plays with great pace and scores efficiently from three levels. Moving forward, he needs to improve attacking with his off hand, but he is a bonafide sleeper in Central California.
Saagar Dhanjani, 6-1 2020 G, Santa Fe Christian
We talked about Dhanjani after his breakout performance at the BSN Sports Showcase, and he continued his strong play this weekend, especially on the defensive end. He is a physical defender who cuts off drives and has active hands that create steals in the passing lanes and on live dribbles.
Christian Chai, 5-11 2021 G, Cypress
Chai caught our attention in a Governor’s Division game with his sharpshooting ability as well as his creativity off the bounce. He forced Sandra Day O’Connor to double him as soon as he crossed halfcourt to get the ball out of his hands. Chai looks to be the next guard up out of a resurgent Cypress program.
Myles Bennett, 5-11 2021 G, San Diego
Bennett is an athletic combo guard who gets downhill and his capable of spectacular finishes around the rim and through contact. There are times where he gets too fancy around the rim, but the lefty’s ability to get into the paint and score is undeniable. Playing with better pace and improved passing are the next steps in his development.
