Calavan was keyed on his first game against Stilwell and yet still found his game. He was able to get his shot off through the pressure and knock it down. He was all over the court and you could see why he gets the attention that he does. Calavan will be a crucial factor in any run the Tigers want to make this season as he put up big numbers even in a loss in the first round of the tournament. Calavan finished the first round with 19 points.
Cayden Lee 2022 Stilwell Guard
Lee was on fire from downtown in the first round. He could not seem to miss and he kept finding himself open on the perimeter. Lee has a good stroke and if he is not guarded tightly he is going to continue to torch teams from deep this season. He finished the first round game with 6 treys and 21 points in a win over Fort Gibson.
Dawson Alt 2021 Pryor Wing
Alt was a mismatch nightmare in the first round. He has a lot of length and decent size and was taller than the posts that the opponent had on the court. With that being said he was athletic and had the ability to shoot the ball. He could not miss in the first half of their game against Inola and kept up in the second half as well. Alt is an interesting prospect that small college coaches should keep an eye on. He is showing a lot of potential. Alt finished with 23 points on the night.
Drew Vachon 2020 Siloam Springs Guard
Vachon was quiet for much of the first half against Coweta as the Tigers played great defense to hold Siloam Springs to only 18 points. The second half was a different story though. Vachon took over the game as Siloam marched back into the match. He was hitting from all three levels and he was great from the free throw line in crunch time as well. He was 8-9 from the free throw line for the game and 7-7 in overtime. Vachon finished the game with 22 points including the dagger to send the game to overtime. It seemed like the more the game went on the more he found his rhythm.
Dre Rodriguez 2021 Victory Christian Wing
Rodriguez had possibly the most complete game out of any of these guys as he was just consistent. He played hard and was able to make an impact on both end of the floor. He was an excellent rebounder and often times got second chance points because of his ability. Rodriguez did not have any one quarter or half that just took over a game, he just did his job continually and got his team points when he was called upon. Much of the Victory offense is run through him or trying to find him and it showed in the stat sheet. He put up 21 points in a losing effort to Verdigris.
Jaren Keith 2021 Verdigris Guard
Keith is a spot up shooter that could not miss against Victory Christian. Verdigris got whatever they wanted on the offensive end of the ball and the same went for Keith. It seemed like Keith could have thrown up a shot from horse and it would have went down because of how well he was shooting. Keith also found some luck on the inside getting to the basket and finishing at the rim. Keith finished with a tie for the round high with 26 points in the first round.
Tyler Haddock 2020 Verdigris Guard
Haddock was the other player for Verdigris who could not seem to miss. He was shooting the ball at an unbelievable rate and they just all seemed to find the bottom of the net. Haddock differed from Keith in that he found his luck from inside the arc. He was dominant in the paint and finding his way to the rim. He was not afraid of contact either as he was sent to the free throw line eleven times throughout the game. He was a good free throw shooter as well as he knocked down 10 of those 11. He finished for a tie for the round high of 26 points.
