Conference Commentary
Top Ten Level: Mound-Westonka, Rockford
The White Hawks return seven of their top eight players from last year’s 20 win team and they enter the season as the 8th ranked team in Class AAA. Expectations are high and the program is really building. Rockford not only brings back a healthy part of last year’s roster but they also get Luke Pepin back from injury and have a huge frontline. The talent is there for a great year.
Compete with Most: Litchfield, New London-Spicer, GSL, Annandale, Watertown-Mayer
The Dragons lost four staters and their top three scorers but bring back enough talent to be a competitive, solid team in the league. New London-Spicer has nearly an entire rotation to replace so they will need a lot of solid replacements to step in from a good JV. Coming off a solid season the Panthers have 20 win type of expectations and with a good mix upperclassmen and a standout sophomore things look good. Annandale only won a dozen games last season but I have a strong feeling they are about to turn things around in a big way. They have three starters back and will be one of the biggest teams in the league. The Royals of Watertown-Mayer won 11 games last year bringing back four staters and seven guys total from their rotation.
Rebuilding: Dassel-Cokato
Predicted Order of Finish
- Mound-Westonka
- Rockford
- Annandale
