Devin Davis (Westinghouse – 2020)
Davis is a scoring point guard from Westinghouse that is coming off an ankle injury per his coach. He didn’t quite have his usual explosiveness, but he got it going as the game went along and came up clutch late with the game winning bucket. Davis did a nice job throughout the game getting to the foul line on a regular basis. Drilled a couple tough threes including banking in one on his way to 18 points.
Dan Florey (St. Ignatius – 2020)
Florey played one of his better all-around games on Sunday morning. He has always been a plus shooter and did that nailing several off the catch. Like how he was more assertive off the bounce with spin moves where he put in runners or passed it in the lane. Did a nice job setting up others and competed on the defensive glass.
Roland McCoy (Kenwood – 2020)
McCoy is a two guard that had buzz coming into the season and he is living up to the billing early in the year with his scoring from the perimeter. He is a bit undersized at the two guard spot, but this kid can really get buckets! Drilled an array of jump shots from beyond the arc. Also has the athleticism to make quick and decisive moves to the cup. McCoy finished with 19 points.
Kendale Anderson (Leo – 2020)
Anderson was an absolute beast in their game against Kenwood. The Leo post dominated on the glass with his physicality and out powering his opponents. He is built like a college defensive tackle. One of the best motors and rebounders in the class. He mauled on the offensive glass for put backs and defensively was a force with his shot blocking and intimidation around the rim. Anderson had 27 points.
Lamont Williams (Hyde Park – 2022)
Williams is part of the young core that Hyde Park has coming the next few years. This sophomore is only 5’9”, but he can flat out shoot the ball from deep. Williams hit on five from beyond the arc in his 17 point outing. One of the many quality guards Hyde Park throws at opponents!
Keedan Foster (Romeoville – 2020)
Foster is a 6’0” senior point guard that kept competing despite being down the majority of the game to Hyde Park. He had to step up in the scoring department with Destin Whitaker out. He did just that drilling pull up jumpers and threes from all over the floor on his way to 13 points.
Antoine Bloxton (Bogan – 2020)
Bloxton had one of the best performances of the day. The Bogan 2020 shooting guard literally carried his team for most of the game. He was dynamic with his explosive three level shot making. Took and made some really tough threes. Thin and rangy wing has a quick release from beyond the three point arc. Put combination moves together to win off the bounce for scores or get fouled. His straight line speed and burst are impressive. Bloxton had 27 points.
Troy D’Amico (Niles Notre Dame – 2021)
D’Amico is a 6’5” small forward that we believe isn’t getting the attention he deserves on the recruiting trail. This kid consistently produces game in and game out. He is a high level shot maker from the perimeter drilling feathery threes while also cutting to the basket for scores on the move. Also a solid passer and excellent wing rebounder. Went for 19 points in their big win over Bogan.
Bryce Hall (Orr – 2020)
This was one of the better outings we have seen from Hall. He transferred in for his senior year and is taking on the role as one of the primary bucket getters for this squad. He knocked down quite a few jump shots while also getting loose a couple times in transition for 13 points.
Blake Peters (Evanston – 2021)
Peters is on fire to start his junior campaign! The 2021 shooting guard is showing he is much more than just an elite shooter. Even on an off shooting night by his standards from three he was the most impactful player on the floor. Guarded one of Orr’s top players when Gibson was in foul trouble. He attacked the basket finding openings in the defense to exploit. His ball handling has got a lot crisper which makes it easier for him to score at the rim. Went for 19 points in the win.
Kevin Murney (St. Rita – 2020)
Murney firmly put his name on our radar with his performance on Sunday. The 6’6” face up four man can shoot the ball from the perimeter spacing the floor on spot up threes. Runs the court hard and has some athletic pop to his game. Contested a couple shots at the rim. He had 13 points.
Sincere Callwood (Simeon – 2020)
Simeon was extremely balanced in their contest against St. Rita. Callwood stood out as he was effective in a number of areas. The big man scored with right handed hooks, high/low seals, finishing dump offs, and crashing the glass for second chance points. Was very good on the glass and was a presence on the defensive end swatting shots. He had 14 points.
Matthew Hawkins (Mt. Carmel – 2021)
Hawkins shined on his home floor for Mt. Carmel. The junior shooting guard was a sniper from beyond the arc drilling an array of threes for 16 points. Strong bodied kid that can take a bump at the cup on occasion.
Mikel Jones (Farragut – 2022)
Jones was a major reason we were looking forward to the last game. The 6’4” combo forward is built like an outside linebacker with his broad shoulders and tremendous strength at a young age. This thick bodied forward flashed the capability to put it on the deck attacking while getting on the glass inside. Went for 14 points.
