Nicolet: Nicolet entered this season without last year’s high-major core. But, with talks of them taking a major step backwards, they opened up the season with a 66-56 win over Milwaukee Academy of Science. The win marks a successful shifting of powers in the Nicolet program, James Graham and Kobe Johnson taking over as leaders of the roster.
Brookfield East: East picked up a vital non-conference win Saturday, beating Racine Case 73-65. East plays in the Metro Classic, the consensus top conference in Wisconsin. Wins like this will compensate for potential in-conference losses, giving them a much-needed resume builder come playoff seeding time.
East Troy: Troy starts the year 2-0 as one of the sneakiest powers in the state. Led by AJ Vukovich, they knocked off Milwaukee Vincent and Pewaukee on back to back nights. Wins over two prominent teams will help solidify them atop the division three pool.
Milwaukee King: King finished last season a tad under the radar, but the script flips after a 97-83 win over Brookfield Academy. Emerging from their roster is a bevy of underrated, unproven athletes, each of them coming together to form an up-and-coming program.
Honorable Mentions: Pewaukee, Xavier
