Johnny Davis – 2020 – SG – La Crosse Central
Davis scored a game-high 26 points in a win over Milwaukee Madison. The Wisconsin commit played just over 20 minutes and also grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists. Davis attacked the rim like he was mad at it. The 6-foot-4 senior finished with ferocity and got to the foul line plenty. Davis shoots the ball better than people realize, but rarely opts to settle that’s not a high percentage shot from the paint. He’s also been much more active defensively this season. In addition to blocking shots from the weak-side, Davis is spending more time on the other team’s top scorer and playing the passing lanes off the ball.
Tonnie Gregory – 2020 – PG – Milwaukee Madison
Milwaukee Madison was up against it, but Gregory was able to hold his own in spurts. The senior guard was forced to take a lot of shots in order to try and keep his team in the game and finished with 17 points. Gregory hit some ridiculously tough shots off the dribble. A tough, hard-nosed point guard, Gregory has always played with a ton of toughness. The 6-foot guard can get after people defensively. Gregory has an advanced frame and is built like a rock. We’ve seen this kid play against some high-level opponents, including Nicolet last season, and he never shys away from competition.
Darius Hannah – 2020 – PF – Milwaukee Academy of Science
Hannah had a game-high 23 points in an easy win over Hope Christian. The 6-foot-9 forward is just a matchup nightmare. Hannah has a ton of length and even after tearing his ACL last season, is still one of the most athletic big men in the state. On top of that, Hannah can handle and shoot the basketball from the outside, he has a soft touch around the rim, and is a dominating shot blocker. Bradley definitely got themselves a steal here, not only with a potential building block player, but someone who could have a long pro career as well.
Stevie Henderson – 2020 – SG – Racine Park
Henderson cooled off in the second, but had a really nice first half in a loss to Golda Meir. An athletic, plus length wing, Henderson handled pressure very well and was able to break people down in the half court or go coast-to-coast and score the basketball. Henderson has plenty of tools offensively. He can size a man up, rip and go to the rim, catch-and-shoot off screens, or play up and down in transition. In an uptempo game, Henderson made good decisions with the basketball and didn’t made high-IQ plays that led to success for his teammates. He finished with 14 points in the loss.
Mason Johnson – 2020 – PF – Golda Meir
Racine Park had no answer for Johnson the entire day. The senior forward scored 32 points and did most of his damage by just outworking people. Johnson had 17 rebounds, often grabbing his own misses and bullying people out of his way. The 6-foot-5 forward has an extremely high motor and never quits on a play. When collecting misses, Johnson gets off the ground quickly and loves setting the tone/playing through contact. Not currently ranked, Johnson could be a nice find for junior college programs as he’s currently averaging 22.5 points and 16.6 rebounds per game.
Donald McHenry – 2021 – PG – Milwaukee Academy of Science
McHenry was outstanding on the defensive end in a blowout win over Hope Christian. The junior guard picked up 94 feet from the rim and caused havoc throughout the day. That led to a ton of turnovers and transition buckets for MAS. The 6-foot-1 guard has very intriguing length and on the ball has an excellent hesitation move and blow-by ability. McHenry can shoot it from 3-point range, but is more effective in isolation settings. He chipped in with 19 points in Saturday’s win.
Terrance Thompson – 2020 – PF – La Crosse Central
It sounds like UW-Green Bay, Southern Illinois, and Duquesne are the three teams best positioned to land Thompson. Whoever gets him is likely going to be happy for the next 4-5 years. The 6-foot-8 forward had 19 points in the win over Milwaukee Madison. Thompson also dominated the glass and was way too physically imposing for the Knights to handle when he caught near the rim. A strong, athletic forward who can run the floor like a deer and shoots consistently from 3-point range, Thompson has a chance to make a huge impact at the mid-major level.
A.J. Vukovich – 2020 – PF – East Troy
Milwaukee Washington tried to get physical and play a fast-paced game against East Troy. Vukovich and the Trojans weren’t having any of it. East Troy just grinded their way to a 27-point win and Vukovich was at the forefront. Vukovich pinned and sealed defenders down low. When they tried to move him off the block, the Louisville baseball commit simply outmuscled people and made sure he stayed in good position to score. Defensively, Vukovich owned the glass and protected the paint. If he weren’t a stud baseball player, Vukovich would likely be a strong Division 2 prospect.
Matthew Wade – 2020 – PG – Golda Meir
Wade did an excellent job of running the show in a win over Golda Meir. Against the press, Wade played fast, but under control. He got to the rim at will and knifed through the defense. Despite being 5-foot-10, Wade was able to finish around the rim. He also did an excellent job of drawing defenders and dropping the basketball off. In fact, Wade racked up 15 assists to go along with 21 points on Saturday.
